To visit the site of the assassination of Saint Oscar Romero and to hear of great his concern for social justice even unto giving his life for the poorest citizens of his country was extremely moving!

This is the historic center of San Salvador. The plaza is flanked by the cathedral, palace, national theatre, and library. Despite being the historic center all the buildings are new. It is crowded here with lots of security. Many restaurants and places for photos.

Having walked for about an hour while visiting attractions at the city center, I took a short break here. There are benches to sit down and enjoy the moment.

The tall monument has a statue of an angel standing on the globe, statue of a lion, plus some inscriptions. Note that this plaza is located across from the Church of the Rosary or Iglesia del Rosario.

I had a great time staring at the entire city from this beautiful vintage point. We also enjoyed a few beers while relaxing up there.

This statue is the focal point of the Parque de Barrios. It shows a man named Barios riding on a horse. There are areas at the bottom ot this statue where one can sit down and contemplate.

Surrounding this statue are some Christmas decorations, San Salvador signage, etc.
