Great food and great value
Thanks Wayan and family for allowing us into your home and showing us Balinese traditional food and way of life.
Firstly we were picked up by a lovely driver from our hotel and taken on a scenic route to a local market where we met our hosts and we learned about traditional Balinese food.
Authentic delicious food, friendly staff and great if you want a day away from the hustle and bustle and spend time cooking on a rainforest farm.
We were welcomed by Wayan, Wayan and Ketut and had a nice herbal tea welcome drink and set our bags in the room.
This class was amazing, great food, great people... thoroughly recomend doing this class...vegetarian options are available and for a meat eater like me it was a welcomed suprise.
Class starts with a walking tour of the food market in Ubud, then a ride up into the hills to a beautiful property in the middle of lush rice fields.
Picked up from our villa, transported to a beautiful lush garden with cooking facilities and wonderful, warm and friendly staff and the most amazing food that we prepared ourselves.

After the market we drove to the family home and were instantly made to feel welcome by the hosts with a cool drink, and discussion around Balinese life, family structures, ceremony, all within the home.

Our evening started with a welcome drink and the preparation of the traditional offerings to the Gods which was already a unique experience in itself.
The food was outstanding, the small class of 6 the perfect size to allow everyone hands-on experience and Dean and the participants were ably assisted by the staff of kitchens hands and a Balinese chef.
