If you love history you have to visit the bridge. It's just a bridge so don't expect much more than that! Over the centuries its been repaired, parts replaced or fixed, so don't expect an intact 800 year old bridge.
it is 20RMB to get into the area of the bridge, there are shops to buy food and drinks, washrooms, little tourist places to buy things.
You need about 30 minutes to wander up and down the bridge taking photos.
There are some signs in English.
Across from the Bridge is the West gate of Wanping Town. The Museum against Japanese oppression is accessible in there.
Getting to the bridge is not too easy. Take line 14 to Dawayao station, the bridge is about 2 1/2 km from the station. I would recommend a Didi/taxi from there, 13RMB cost.

Even during the super busy overcrowded Golden week (1st week of October, avoid it like hell) we found this peaceful Buddhist temple which was a change from the others that have a LOT in common.
Impressive tomb-like stones in the yard, and a quiet atmosphere. The Beijing zoo is just next door, worth the stroll only considering the few euros/dollars it costs .

Jinding Bridge 金锭桥 and Yinding Bridge 银锭桥 are twin bridges within Shichahai 什刹海 area, overlooking the Houhai Lake 后海. Of the 2 bridges, Jinding Bridge is much quieter. It is just an ordinary bridge. I passed by here from Mao'er Hutong heading to Yandai Xie Street 烟袋斜街.

...you cross enroute from the Sacred Way to the Ming Tomb complex. All in all, this was a lovely area to tour especially on a nice Spring Day.
