Jinshanling great wall is 2h30 away by car from Beijing City. I visited there at end of January. I was amazed there was nobody visiting there. I encountered only one Chinese family during my whole hike! The east gate is closed during winter season, so the total distance you could hike could be shorter than in Summer(4km approx), but even though, being able to enjoy the great views without anybody was priceless experience. My driver Mr. Ping spoke very good English and made sure that I enjoyed the visit. I'd like to thank him.

Eva and Cathy were amazing. I only had one day on the end of a business trip and even they were fully booked they accommodated my bucket list tour.

Communication was fast, easy and clear. Pick up from the hotel, dropped off at station. Clear instructions to get from point a to b. Even a little packed food bag!!

Was picked up in Xi’an north railway station by Eva and the driver and we went for an amazing lunch before the tour started. Amazing noodles and local ‘hamburger’ and even a cheeky beer 😁

Eva was so knowledgeable and clearly loves her home city. I learnt so much that it’s made me want to come back for longer!

The Terracotta Army was incredible, definitely worth the trip.

Bullet train was clean and easy as well. Driver was friendly and car was super clean. Plenty of water to drink.

I honestly can’t give this team enough praise. Don’t hesitate, don’t worry and don’t miss an amazing opportunity.

By the way, Eva and Cathy’s English is better than mine and I’m from the UK :)

    Thank you both

This was really a fantastic experience! I couldn't believe I could hike the Great Wall again soon after China is open. This time I took this private tour with my friend at Downtown Travel. Our guide Zak is perfect! He is very knowledgeable and patient, always ready to answer my question... And the tour was very well organized. We were rather flexible as there were only me and my friend in this private tour.

Jinshanling is by far the most appealing section of the Great Wall I've ever been (I took this tour years ago). I think will come back again to hike other sections of the Great Wall. For sure I will do again with Downtown Travel and Zak. I felt very happy!!!

Well, planned trip. The time on the Wall was enough to take excellent photos and enjoy the sights. Good feature is the organisers pick up from the hotel. The price is too high in my opinion. I think that tickets for a toboggan and cable railway should be included. The experience was amazing, but the additional costs were not. It was amazing to take part in the traditional ritual of tea making, and also see the craft jewellery-making process. I really recommend this trip.

We had a fantastic time on our trek with James! Not only did he show us the best scenic spots, but he helped us get through the parts of the trek that were more difficult (which we really appreciated!). And he is an AMAZING photographer! We will definitely be doing another trek with James in the future, and are so looking forward to seeing another beautiful part of the Great Wall!

We had a great time on this private day trip to Tianjin. We were met promptly at 9 am in the morning by our guide Lina.
Was driven in a comfortable MPV to the train station where we board the bullet train to Tianjin. At Tianjin another local driver picked us up and this is where the Tianjin tour begin.
First stop, former residence of Puyi, cultural street and sampling of local snacks.
Our guide Lina took extra care of my elderly mum and was extremely attentive to her needs and ensure she was comfortable thru out the entire trip.
Specifically like to mention the restaurant we had for lunch. Food was very well prepared and nice.We even compliment the chef.
Most of all and above it was Sunflower Tours that make a difference to my this day trip , being able to personally communicate from start till the end of a trip impresses me most.

Bruce was knowledgeable and a good climber. The trip was one of the highlights for the three teenagers (all grew up in the US). The scenery was better than the popular Great Wall sites in that it is more "authentic" (many parts are not repaired so showing the rust and true history--warning: you need to be more careful as side walls are missing in some parts, so small children are not recommended on this trip).

The hike is of appropriate length and difficulty (for teenagers and healthy people under 70). And on a clear winter day, our hike with Bruce was truely unforgettable.

    Thank you again Bruce!

Catherine Lu Tour agency was so easy to work with that we booked several of their tours. Their tour prices are also the best. We thoroughly enjoyed our customized, afternoon tour which included traveling with our choice of either taxi or metro/subway to visit Beihei Park followed by Jingshan Park. Our tour guide, Amanda, was delightful and extremely knowledgeable about each of these sites and also explained some of the local customs to us. She perfectly navigated our visits to these two sites and ensured our return to our requested destination. We highly recommend this tour agency and Amanda.

The trip was very well organised from start to finish. It was a very beautiful part of the wall and it was a perfect length and level of difficulty for us. Our tour guide Linda (Travel China Guide) was very helpful and gave us options along the way on how much further we wanted to walk. She was lovely and also told us a lot of interesting historical facts (and her English is excellent.) The hotel pick up and drop off made the trip easy and very comfortable. I had a perfect day, I’m so happy we picked this tour!

I have been to badaling great wall long time ago. This time I accompany mu friends from Australia to tour Beijing. Mutianyu is a fairly new section of the great wall. I was surprised that the view is great. Tour guide gave us different ways to travel the wall and help us decide how we want to travel. Great tour!

Thanks to Catherine and Mister Lu to organise the transportation to the wall. The hike lasts about 3 hours, the view was stunning! I really recommend it if you go to Beijing !

It was our final trip on this journey to China and it was definitelly one of the best trips I ever had. Our tour guide Bob took us to a more rural area of the Great Wall to start our trip. We started at a little hiking village and went up the wall by a hiking path to arrive at a partially destroid part of the Great Wall - it was an impressive view and one to behold.
For the next hours we walked over this old part of the wall which was mostly bare of any other people; only ocotionally we met another pair hikers on our path. Further and further we went on top and and along the wall to finally make our way to the renovated part for our final descending to our pick-up spot.

For every view and and every questions we had, Bob had an interesting and informative answer; we enjoyed our time with him and learned a lot about Chinese history and culture.

We had a really good trip on march to the Great Wall at Jinshanling, only a few people there so we could really enjoy this impressive building. Our guide Hil arrived in time, was very helpful with our special wishes, drive well and his car was modern and clean. Overall it is worth to book, fully recommendation

My husband and I were picked up at our cruise ship (Oceania) by Miss Lina and a driver and taken to Beijing’s Forbidden City by car and train. We walked through the Forbidden City and were told of its fascinating history and culture. Her English was perfect! She took us all the way back to to ship when the tour was finished. We would gladly return and ask for her again. In fact we are thinking of sending her our granddaughter who speaks Mandarin for a week when she is in high school. Miss Lina was very friendly and very informative and we would recommend this tour to everyone, especially if you have a limited time in Beijing. We saw the best part!
