Excellent for families with kids. You can walk several kilometres around the lake, and after that the restaurant awaits for a perfect well deserved meal! Several activities are available on site, such as paddle boats and death rides. A must!

I live in front of the Congo river. I can see it everyday. It is a fantastic mass of water. It is the deepest river in the entire world: 80 meters deep here and there, perhaps even more! It is the blood of the country. It is the wealth of the country. It isn't a sacred river like the Ganges for example, as far as I know, and it seems that it doesn't move at all, but it is majestic and awe-inspiring.

There are many places from where you can experience the river from Kinshasa or near Kinshasa. By far the best way is to cross it to go to Brazzaville. I have done it a few months ago. It wasn't easy (traveling is always hard in DRC and around), but it was worthwhile, especially as far as experiencing the river is concerned, since Brazzaville is not what I would call an interesting city. Foreigners can walk in the streets without being harassed, but there are less things to do than in Kinshasa.

From that side, you can have a walk from the city centre to the bridge and back. I advise you to start early morning or one hour and a half before sunset. From Kinshasa, you can have a walk on the Avenue des Nations Unies (check on a map), or eat in a restaurant that has a river view, like Chez Tintin, le Plein Vent or le Mandarin, but remember that to cross the river by boat to Brazzaville is by far the best option to experience it.

It was an emotional moment to go and see Congolese art shown to the public in COngo, after generations of art plundering. It is definitely worth visiting. Great experience.

The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the restaurant is included in this.
The park on itself with the safari was very picturesque, modern and clean. It was even better than some safaris I've done in South Africa. The roads were very modern, with a more adventurous piste sometimes, which give its authentic touch. Furthermore, there are a lot of activities after the safair, for kids or adults and the lodge looks beautiful.
The only thing is that the restaurant's service was a bit slow and the food was not exceptional. The scenery was great though, so I would recommend having a drink there.
Bear in mind that there is jammed traffic to get there, so you do have to plan a whole day for this activity.

A wide variety of art, variety of birds, and there's even a dance studio :-) Beautiful unique pieces and beautiful place to take your time visiting. The lady at the counter speaks English, French, and German.

What the last reviewer has said isn't true and the photos he posted are not photos of this church. He got confused! The church he went is Saint-Anne, near the Railway Station. I go to Sainte-Anne every Sunday and I work only 500 meters away from Notre-Dame du Congo: I know these two are two different churches!

Notre-Dame du Congo is not in the city centre. It's not even in the city (Gombe)!! It's in Lingwala. It is a massive church near the Académie des Beaux Arts, on 24 (24 is the name of an important street of Kinshasa, perpendicular to the Boulevard du 30 Juin). It can accommodate almost 1,000 people. The seats are wooden. The inside is breathtakingly vast for a church in this part of the world. It's a place of prayer. It isn't as well aerated as Notre-Dame de la Sagesse, the church on the UNIKIN campus. That means that around noon, it can be baking hot inside. Apart from that, it's a good place to pray.

One of our favorite places to take pictures with friends. It's beautiful and well-maintained and you can meet with artists and even buy art there.

I did this hike about five times. It's the best walk you can do in Kinshasa. It takes about two to three hours. I have very fond memories of my time there. Start the climb early, on a Saturday or on a Sunday. Take sunscreen or even better: an umbrella. The sun gets very strong. You will need a 4x4 vehicle to reach the foot of the hill. Everyone can do it, even a 7-year-old child! Take plenty of water. There is no shop nearby. Enjoy your walk!

The two main pastors of this delightful little church are Mr Bais Balongo and Mr Maurice Mondengo. They preach every Sunday in English, from 11:00 am to 12:20 pm. They are really excellent. If you are in Kinshasa and haven't been there yet, I warmly recommend you to pay them a visit. That will make your day, no doubt!
