- MrMoss19 contributionsWords simply cannot do this fabulous achievement justice, a must-see in muscat, just make sure you leave plenty of time as you won't be able to tear yourself away.Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Hailsk2411801 contributionsWas great! Enjoyed wandering round, checking out the souvenirs but find it difficult never being left to look at something. I eventually did get the hang of negotiating and got the prices down.Written 30 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MeeraKMKollam, India65 contributionsThe dam and its surroundings offers picturesque view. The mountains, palm plantations and reflections of sun on the bluish water is amazing!!Written 4 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- igolfCAWilliamsburg, VA1 688 contributionsThe palace of the Sultan wasn’t as impressive on the outside as I expected. However, our guide said the inside is magnificent. Ok, I’ll take his word for it because I would expect that to be the case. The gardens on the outside were very nice, perfectly manicured, and beautiful to see. We walked around and took photos in the beautiful weather. Enjoyed seeing the palace.Written 2 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Tomo147 contributionsThis place is a fun place to visit if you are a tourist. The old souq is a must visit if you've never been to a souq before. It's a nice contrast to the modern malls in the city.
I would highly recommend catching the sunset at the harbour and then having dinner at Bait Al Luban! Their food is amazing!Written 1 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - MrMoss19 contributionsWe took the tour through here on our way to muttrah, staff were lovely and the building itself is unreal.Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- whereamI2dayWorcester Park, UK841 contributionsWe found this park as it has a massive landmark close by. We needed to orientate ourselves as we intended to walk the C38 through the mountains which starts close by. The park has free loos in it and people were just sitting and relaxing there. It's a very well kept neat park and kids can play there.Written 12 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- marekp59Gdansk, Poland1Â 784 contributionsIt looks impressive from below, but it looks the most impressive from the sea. Together with the Al-Jalali fort, they are an excellent castle protecting access from the sea! Painted a bit like Christmas gingerbread ;-) Do they like candies in Oman?Written 4 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Paulo FornoSohar, Oman8 contributionsGood trip and a beautiful place good place for snorkeling the trip is 45 minutes the place is very cleanWritten 6 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kimia Khaneghah26 contributionsThe Wadi is amazing. Its desert meets tropical climate meets fresh water meets mountains. Really nice temperature to swim in as well. Even in the summer months! What I don't see here is guidance that the water is actually quite deep. Reaching over 3 meters at some points so recommended that you are a decent swimmer.Written 5 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Alexander_KudrinSamara, Russia8Â 757 contributionsThis large fortress stands on a high mountain, guarding the entrance to the harbor of Old Muscat.
The fort was built by the Portuguese under King Philip I of Portugal in the 1580s after Muscat was sacked by Ottoman forces.
The fort was twice captured by the Persians, who were brought in to help one of the rival imams.
The fortress was rebuilt several times.
It is impossible to get inside, since the fort continues to be used for its intended purpose.Written 31 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Rosario_itBelgium1Â 826 contributionsThe tower itself is not so interesting.
What is more interesting is going up and have a wonderful panorama of the vicinity, especially the sea.Written 12 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - BelleraphonLos Angeles, CA150 contributionsIf you want shopping in Muscat, then here is the place to start. Unlike the souk in Muttrah this is all the real stuff. Well worth a visit. Located in a shopping/dining area between the Intercontinental hotel and the sea. The area is a must do on the tourist trail but the locals come down in the evening too. There are 4 shops inside the complex selling more craftware closer to what you will get in the souk. Haggling essential. All around are some great places for dining, some alfresco with sea views. Opposite are the best independent shops for dates, cigars and tea. Ample parking and always taxi's out front & on the "hop on hop off" Big Bus route. 500 meters walk away is also the Bareeq mall. Here you will find several shops selling world renowned branded goods at unbelievably low prices.Written 22 January 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Y. A.16 contributionsbeautiful place. Rent a car before you go there - amazing colors for the water. Don't go during Eid season since it was very crowded, we couldn't swim in the water.
make sure to go early morning, we went around noon, and it was very hot.
Ladies should wear conservative clothes (not above the knee, and no spaghetti straps)
make sure to make a stop later to "Fins" beach, it's very close to the sinkhole.Written 16 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - MrMoss19 contributionsFascinating look into Omani history and geography. Perfect with a visit to muttrah souq to make a day out.Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
