What travellers are saying
- Saef A1 contributionA wonderful and beautiful place. We had a wonderful time with the family. A place that respects privacy and cleanliness is very excellent
Thanks to Layan TellawyWritten 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - World2ExplorDoha, Qatar88 contributionsA beautiful architectural museum. Looks big on the outside but, inside has limited but concise exhibition compared to other museums i have been to. Typical time spent half day. The museum has 7 small exhibitions that explains the history of Bahrain from its conception as a country to present day. The exhibit highlights the main aspects of Bahrain life. It’s important to note the whole of Bahrain is a historical site and there are ancient ruins being discovered within the city. The museum does its best to encompass centuries of history in a summary that is comprehensive. Worth a visit if you like history.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Shahzad KhanAl Khobar, Saudi Arabia2 contributionsA historical Islamic Center. An Islamic Library with huge car parking available. The Masjid is located near to King PalaceWritten 7 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Been a few placesEpsom, UK1 118 contributionsA trip to Bahrain is incomplete without a visit to the Bab el-Bahrain Souk. Its a mix of of old souk alleyways and newer lanes. Its a great place to pick up a souvenir, a bite to eat or even some gold. The place comes to life in the evening, making it a great place to experience the local way of lie.Written 2 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Boston1989152 contributionsAttended for the Bahrain 2022 Grand Prix at Sakir.
Positives:
Highly organised on race day
Plenty of toilets
University Grandstand 1 has great view of the action but is 15-20 min walk from the food
Prices were ok considering event prices
Clean
Employees were all very friendly and helpful
They have mini pop up supermarkets
Negatives:
Organisation eg taxi signs missing at the start of the F1 weekend
Long queue times for food/drinks
One adult beverage tent - v.v.v. expensive and had to buy a permit to enter which was 66BD and you can only consume it in the tent. There was 1 free to enter Heineken tent with staff who worked super hard however one bar with all those fans...you can imagine!
Worth noting:
Have your screen brightness up for the ticket scanning
Free wifi works but gets overloaded during peak times and only works outside the main grandstand
Take a jacket - we were so cold
Taxis are expensive - pre arrange travel if you can as got overcharged two times by two different taxis
Traffic on a Thursday night is bad - leave early for the pitwalk
Travel after the event was craaazy - i personally wouldn't risk flying out later in the evening on race dayWritten 27 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - World2ExplorDoha, Qatar88 contributionsThe Avenues is a shopping mall and a go to place for all locals and tourists a like. With its line of high end and mid range shops there is something for all budgets of shopping. Its busy at best of times. Still worth a visit as there are activities for the family especially during the festive season. There is a big fun fair area for the kids and of course coffee shops; restaurants for all budgets. Outdoor has restaurants ans coffee shops where families can enjoy the views from the restaurants or walk along the length of the shopping mall and soak up the atmosphere. Whatever you do there is something for everyone. A family can easily spend an entire day. 4 star - because at busy times parking can be a nightmare.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- World2ExplorDoha, Qatar88 contributionsThis is a beautiful site worth visiting to understand how Bahrain came to existence. The museum explains the settlements of dilmun civilisation. Outside the museum is the ancient ruin where You can also see fresh water spring up from salt water! The ancient ruin is still being dug up by archeologist so there is a lot to learn about the small ancient country of Bahrain.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Peter SlabbaertBornem, Belgium1 178 contributionsPart of the half day tour of the south of Bahrain. When visiting this place it looks like you go back in time! Everything is still like it was in the past and that's why it makes a visit so memorable....when today meets the past!Written 16 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mark Hilton5 contributionsAl Dar is a lovely island to visit, a nice place to go if you want to escape the mainland for a few hours. I have visited 3 times over the last 5 years with my Dad and daughter. it was cool travelling by a boat to get to the island. The beach was very clean, nice and Sandy. There was a shop and cafe there to get food and necessary drinks to keep you hydrated. There were changing rooms and showers. You could do water sports such as water skiing and jet ski. I wanted to go just to relax and on the beach sat on the deck chair it was peaceful and bliss...it helped by having a nice cold can of red horse lager, what more do you need. The sea was clean and not too cold because of the heat bouncing of the water surface. I'd recommend the island even if it was a one of visit.Written 23 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Been a few placesEpsom, UK1 118 contributionsThe Bahrain World Trade Center is an architecturally interesting building, powered by wind turbines. Sadly, its hard to get a good view of the building from the complex, but its worth a wander round the high end mall to get an idea of the wealth in the country.Written 2 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Been a few placesEpsom, UK1 118 contributionsWhile it may just be a tree, it's a tree in the middle of the dessert with little else around. It's an attractive tree under which you can contemplate how it even manages to survive in such a barren landscape.
If you have your own transport in Bahrain, its worth a trip to visit and see the dessert and oil drills at the same time. There aren't any facilities to speak of at the site with the exception of toilets.Written 12 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Haneen Mother of CatsBahrain3 contributionsIt's a beautiful place super fancy, however it's very dead n quiet. It's a great place to live if you have good bank thoughWritten 26 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Been a few placesEpsom, UK1 118 contributionsIf you are a fan of calligraphy or religious texts this is the place for you. A huge collection of Korans, old and new from all around the world can be found in Beit Al Qur'an. As a non-Muslim, I spent a good half hour admiring very much appreciated the craftsmanship and beauty of the penwork which males up the religious texts. Definitely add a visit here to your list if you are looking for a bit of culture.Written 2 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dinesh SinghDubai, United Arab Emirates1 contributionIt was my first visit to this temple for Thanksgiving & to seek Lord Krishna's blessings.
The temple is under renovation and hopefully will look better in the coming months. However, once inside, the atmosphere is serene. One can sit in peace and meditate. With God, everything is possible!!Written 3 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
