The museum is definitely worth a visit!
It is not the best modern art exhibition I have seen but has a couple of very nice artworks.
The building itself is very beautiful, and entry was free.
The cafeteria has fine food and is decently cheap.
Overall it is a very nice museum!

WoW! The fabulous space to visit in the heart of city. It is art gallery, library, bookstore, rooftop garden, movie theater... if you have time and want to escape from city noise go there to relax

Building is very good after renovation. Whole building climatized and you can climb stairs muzeum floor or other entertainment floors. We visited muzeum which cover coins of culture in civilization history at anatolia. All copper, silver and gold "sikkes" found at middle east , Anatolia can be seen on board ref to the historical timeschedule.at the upper floor the story of 4 city of ottoman empire by photos. Needs to check time to time

Galata Leather was in our shopping list while we were planning for a trip to Istanbul , Galata Tower area. And here we are. We jus got a very nice full leather tote bag from this shop, Mr. Mustafa is a very friendly and warm person and we had a good time at the shop. The selection is good n the price is reasonable with quality product you will get. Do drop by if u read this review, cos those good reviews helped us to get to this shop and they r valid 😁
The kitty coin purse is a gift from Mr.Mustafa, thank you 😃

Very kind people offering a selection of art pieces of carpets. Different type and not any decorative souveniers. A rich selection of radical pieces. Thank you

You can visit this pazar on Saturdays. It is close to Taksim, right in the area of Tarlabasi. You can find there strange goodies, fresh products and interesting faces. The people there are unique and if you are interested in street photography that’s a place you should visit.

Took a while to find, in a very trendy and arty offshoot of Galatea, but well worth the effort. Local glass blowing facility, which is operational in the coolers seasons. They display unique pieces which can be purchased, and a great place to buy traditional Turkish Çesmi Bülbül glass products at excellent prices. Very friendly staff. Very impressed.

This time I was visiting just opened exhibition of Theo Eshetu "Faces and Places". It's open from January,29 till March, 09 2019. Akbank Art Gallery is totally free. I know they do have speaking about art and events in some days, but it's on Turkish language, if someone is interesting in. Akbank Art Gallery even is publishing art bulletin monthly about almost all main art exhibitions and events in Istanbul area, so you can go and pick up one for yourself totally free. Lovely place at the beginning of İstiklal caddesi near Taksim square.

The location of this mall is the best, in heart of Istiklal street, the famous shopping street in Taksim area, some Turkish shops like DeFacto, some international brands such as Sephora, Decathlon and Marks & Spencer.
It has a food court on upper floor, also a terrace in open air.

Hidden treasure of Istanbul and Turkey - the only existing Jew museum in Turkey. There are dozens of interesting and important artifacts of Greeks, Jews and other minor nations, living in Istanbul 20th century. I was so impressed and surprised with the collection, and would love to visit it again.
    Totally recommended - 12/10.

I took my mother to Turkey in May 2015 and did a lot of research to learn about food tour options in Istanbul. The complexity of the cuisine and navigating the markets make this type of tour an essential in Istanbul. I originally booked a Culinary Walks Tour but I found Banu's Spoon in My Pocket through Afar magazine online. I was immediately drawn to the personalized nature of Banu's site and rebooked with her. Banu was so gracious, she personally came to our hotel in Sirkeci and escorted us to the Kadikoy markets, where we received the royal treatment in terms of many delicious foods to try and Banu's wonderful and kind company. Banu knows her stuff, is obviously well connected in the marketplace, plus she is a lovely person. My mother and I had a great time and we felt like Banu was an old friend after the evening was over. I researched this a lot so save your time and get in touch with Banu for your Istanbul culinary adventure. And do it at the beginning of your trip because Banu has many restaurant suggestions as well. You will not regret it!

This is the place to find and buy "original copy" of branded clothing mostly for men so forget about the quality. Some have tagged price some not. Not many options of women clothing.
