Well situated and easy to access. Multiple craft items with some affordable prices. Recomended for souvenirs from Namibie.

This was one of the most colorful part of our trip. If you are a photographer, I'd say take a whole day, because you'll be stopping a lot. The colors, the panorama. Delightful.
We also came across 3 dudes on bicycles. Which is absolutely crazy. Especially due to the temperatures.

The Christuskirche is a beautiful and iconic landmark in Windhoek. It is easy to find and has free and clean parking. The church is also very central to other tourist attractions, so you can easily walk to other places from here. However, be vigilant during your visit, as there were some persistent people, possibly scammers, trying to bother tourists in the vicinity. If you are polite and firm, they will usually leave you alone. Despite this minor inconvenience, the Christuskirche is definitely worth a visit.

It is certainly central as it is right beside the gingerbread church and you can get both in your photo if you so wish. I started by going to the top level and working my way down. There are superb views from the various viewing points at the top. There is also a very nice eatery that is more than a cafe but not quite a restaurant. I had the chicken mayo toastie with fries and it was absolutely delicious and ridiculously cheap.
The museum itself is also a great place. It is only when you read or hear of the stories that you realise what a violent and sad history Namibia has. The information is very well presented both visually and audibly (with commentaries starting when you step on designated points).
You could easily spend a few hours here going through all the different floors. I myself was a bit pushed for time but got a good idea of it in the hour I had by reading over the main exhibits. I don't think you need to visit any other museums if doing this one.
Only downside was the erratic lift which refused to work on the 1st Floor. I couldn't get to Ground as the stairs only take you to a basement. I had to take the stairs all the way back to the top and then get a different lift down and out. Maybe designed this way so you take in a floor at a time and finish at the cafe but I was hungry so started there.

A fine hotel in the centre of Windhoek but beware the chaotic administrative staff. I booked an extra night after my initial booking and had problems with the hotel from that point on. Firstly, the luxury car transfer from the airport didn't arrive (despite me checking before leaving home) and I was asked to share a standard Toyota saloon car with others. I was still billed for the limousine. Despite being asked to merge the two bookings, I still had to get my key revalidated for my second night as the two bookings were still separate and they hadn't checked me in for the second night. At least they didn't ask me to change rooms! On check out they, initially, only charged me for one night but when I queried it they then increased it to more than the total two nights payable. In the end, with a taxi waiting, I let it go and they gained an extra $200 NAD for reasons which are still unclear to me.

Having said all that, the hotel is centrally located near a shopping mall, the rooms are a good size and to a very good business class standard. The rooftop bar/restaurant is probably the best in town with good food and excellent views of the city and surrounding hills.

Would I stay there again? Certainly but I would be very much on my guard against the, seemingly, incompetent back office staff who don't do what they say they already have. I spoke to the hotel Duty Manager the night before checkout but whether she took any action not I don't know. What I do know is that they tried to charge me for a service I didn't receive (City Cabs is a 3rd party provider but operating under their umbrella and charged to the hotel account) and bumped up the agreed bill for no fathomable reason. They also won't let you charge any food or beverage to your room unless you have left a healthy deposit at reception but they don't tell you this until you try to sign to the room.

All in all a good hotel but with some fundamental administrative flaws and staff training issues they need to address.

Had a year en function there, was so relaxing. Frits made our game drive fun and interesting, learned some new stuff that I did not know. Although it is very dry, Okapuka still takes care of the animals. We had a great laugh wile the ostriches chased the warthogs around.

We join the 8 day’s private tour in Chameleon Safaris. I had the distinct pleasure of having Justus as our tour guide, and I cannot commend their work enough. He exhibited an exceptional level of professionalism and patience, which made our experience not just educational, but also thoroughly enjoyable.

Justus is extensive knowledge on a variety of subjects was impressive. He delivered information with a perfect blend of humor and facts, making the learning process fun and memorable. It's not every day that you encounter a guide who has the ability to make history come to life with such enthusiasm and wit.

I highly recommend Justus to any traveler looking for a comprehensive and delightful touring experience.

If I could give 6 stars I would. We did a 7 day trip of Namibia and from start to finish everything was amazing. Guide, accommodation, food, everything was 10/10!

We were delayed by 3 days when delta cancelled our flight (would not recommend this airline) and Namibia experience (along with Tammy from Pembury tours, would also highly recommend) managed to reschedule our entire itinerary which we are so grateful for.

Every place we stayed was really great, amazing views, delicious food and the staff so helpful and attentive.

The best part of this tour has to be our guide, Obi. I’ve travelled to over 100 countries and done everything from free walking tours to months long overland safaris and Obi has got to be the best guide I have ever had. He was so knowledgeable and there was not a question we asked that he couldn’t answer (and we asked some random stuff). He went above and beyond to make sure we were always ok and comfortable. In the end it was like traveling with a friend and not a guide. If you’re going to use Namibia experience I highly recommended you ask for Obi. He really made our trip extra awesome.

Booked Wild Wind Safaris for a custom 3 night 4 day tour. Tour and activities were exceptional. Was able to see Cape Cross, Pelican Cost, Sandwich Harbour, Namib-Naukluft Park, Solitaire, Dune 45/Big Daddy, Deadvlei, Sesriem Canyon and Windhoek. My tour guide, Jephta was phenomenal. He was very knowledgeable on Namibia, a great driver and provided exceptional service. I highly recommend using this tour company

    Only great words for them!
They guest us at the arrival and Robert took the needed time to study together our trip and provide all the explanations on how to use car, tools, tend, etc.
Always available for some tips and quick on the support.
Thanks to Robert, Christina and the rest of the team!
Our road trip in Namibia had not any issue thanks to them!

I am so happy to enthusiastically recommend Blue Crane Safaris! From our initial emails with Derek, who helped us plan the perfect tour for our group of 5, to the trip itself, with our amazing guide Me-Gusto, the folks at Blue Crane went above and beyond to make this a remarkable visit. I'm a travel writer, and have traveled extensively around the world—this was absolutely a first-class experience. Me-Gusto was wonderful company, and taught us about Namibia's natural history, wildlife, botany, culture, history, and geology. He got us to the right place at the right time for amazing photos, and took into account the individual interests and abilities of everyone in our group.

Despite not being sure what we wanted to do (or whether we could even afford it), Nature Travel Namibia organised a superb trip for us. We had lots of communication as we kept changing our minds, thinking of new places to visit etc - and they accommodated us every time, and promptly. Our itinerary was based around mammals and birds we wanted to see, and the trip provided us with all the opportunities we needed to do so. From the airport transfer, to car hire, accomodation and visits to parks, everything was sorted out, with very helpful pre-trip information and a further pack when we arrived that included a helpful road map.
In summary: great communication, great value for money, superb tour. Highly recommended.

I don't even know where to start. Our 11-day trip to Namibia organised by Claire and guided by Elvis was one of the best experiences we have had on our family travels. The country is so varied and beautiful, we are very grateful we had Elvis with us to show it to us and talk us through its different aspects, including history, culture and wildlife. He was very kind and knowledgeable and great company. He was absolutely fantastic at spotting animals that we would not have seen without him. Even now, upon our return, I can't quite believe what we saw and experienced, from the desert hike to game drives and beautiful lodges and fantastic food. Our three teenagers had the best time. Thank you, Elvis, for spending the time with us. We will treasure the memories forever.

We left the snow and Western Cape cold fronts behind and went on a hike of note! ELLEN had everything sorted with her highly welcoming and efficient team to accommodate us - the intrepid travellers on the ten day KUNENE in July 2024.
There were so many highlights but to name an important one for me - was Croc spotting across to the banks of Angola!

A summary of what you're in for -
Woken before sunrise with a feelgood song off the playlist. Met with black coffee and raisin rusk ritual. Setting off on the jeep track the long and windy road of freedom awaits each day.
Ten days of sand under our feet and between our toes. Meeting interesting villagers and experiencing breathtaking views. Hugging ancient baobabs. Spotting hardy goats, beautful cows and noisy donkeys. Being greeted by decorated Himba people with their families and children.
A rewarding stop for breakfast was always a welcome treat. As the temperature soared, we explored single goats tracks along the lush green river banks. Wearily approaching the river to cool off bandanas and hats - to ward off the big snap! The lunch spread was a reliable prize after a well thought out sixteen to eighteen kilometer distance per day on foot. Total walking distance of around one hundred and fifty kilometres.
Lazy afternoons resting under the trees on the river bank or by the camp swimming pool. Our ritual sundowners were magical and dinner always a splendid culinary spread.
The highlight reaching Epupa Falls was my own African Camino and I am blessed to have shared the experience with my friends Louise and Maureen.

Ellen I can't thank you enough. Chad started a really good thing and to be sure his girl with the pink bumper has got this!
Without doubt a lot goes on behind the scenes putting each trip together.
Thanks also to your chef and go-to man Jaku, guides and wizards George and Steve - camping will never be the same again - and I'm back to the hard life of pitching my own tent!

I highly recommend anyone looking to escape the RSA winter. Instead of shooting past the essence of the land in your vehicle - reap the rewards and go on foot! Slow down and take it all in.

For me Wild Cherry Adventures takes the hassel out of planning the hike and provides the spoil of three appetising meals a day, effortlessly ensuring comfort for a memorable camping experience in NAM. Thanks for making it happen!

Amazing trip and must do when you are in Windhoek. Ana is am amazing women who runs her company with passion and love. Our Tourguide Obed was just fun, well informed, so friendly and we felt safe and entertained the whole time. He explained us a lot about Katatura, the markets and businesses. We got to try traditional food! The ride is easy, you stop regularly, though it gets quite warm and there are some smaller hills. But Ana and her team will make sure you always feel happy and safe! We look forward on coming back.
