For me, this is a must visit place when in the Windhoek area. You will see an abundance of wildlife close up, that you may not be able to see as well on the game drives.
Let me make it clear, no animals are caged here. Absolutely not. Each species has its own area of the reserve to roam free in - and it is huge. Yes, there are fences but these are to separate the animals where needed. They are also used to give a run off viewing area when feeding. What happens is that you are driven around by the ranger and he stops at cheetahs, wild dogs, lions and caracal cat to feed them fresh meat. Firstly, he goes to a designated area on the boundary fence where the animals know to go. He calls them and you can watch them feed. Secondly, they only get fed a couple of times a week when required, most times they ARE left to hunt on their own. It is humane and nowhere else could you get so close to these animals. You can stand back as far or as close as you choose. I dared to go right up to the fence so I could take photos through the gaps. The ranger left it as my choice but at no time did I feel in danger and it enabled clear, amazing shots. Equally though you could stand at the platform and take photos including the fencing if you wished. Or just watch these beautiful animals in their natural setting. To see a super rare caracal cat was a thrill. I took a great video of it leaping for the meat but beware that they jump really high as I missed it the first time! There were also baboons out drinking that you could see from the pool area plus the ones you were driven to.
There is a nice place for food on site that did a good lunch served at the table. Only a very small selection of gifts so not a place if wanting souvenirs.
Note that Naankuse is very much involved in conservation programs and helping the native wildlife. I think it unfair if anyone says the set up or tour is cruel. Obviously, just my own opinion but to me all the animals could roam free and it gives us tourists a unique chance to see them.
Oh and Josef from Chameleon Tours was lovely too.

This was a great way to see the country and almost all of the key stops in Namibia! From the transportation to the unique and lovely accommodations and delicious food options (which also surprised us)! Gideon was our driver and guide for most of the trip and even climbed Big Daddy with us! He was knowledgeable and fun. There are some long driving days and some bumpy roads, but it’s a great way to see the many changing landscapes. I also highly recommend doing the Sandwich Bay with dune boarding add-on tour in Swakopmund. It was one of our trip highlights!

My experience with Chameleon was great! Met so many people on all the tours and spent my last few days with a great group. Kennedy was top tier in guiding us and being so helpful making our experience so comfortable. 6 days was everything I needed to rest, adventure and explore. Busses were also very comfortable and spacious (despite inevitable bumpy roads). Would 1000% recommend! Definitely request Kennedy to be your tour guide!!

Anton was an epic guide who really had our back on every level. I felt very safe with him being our tour guide and he was a good driver. He showed us his excellent cooking skills as we ate the most delicious food - especially the stew! He joined in a lot of jokes with us too! Everyone on our trip were solo travellers which made it really easy to make friends and we all had such a laugh! I heard about Chameleon from other travellers who had been before and the trip definitely lived up to / exceeded the high expectations that my friends gave me! I’m quite independent so the idea of a tour made me a bit hesitant, but it was honestly an amazing trip from start to finish and I am so glad I did it with Chameleon Safaris. It is one of my favourite ever tours, I highly recommend it to any solo traveler!!

I enjoyed the tour "5-day Sossusvlei & Coast".
"Dune45" with sunset and "BigDuddly" with sunrise were grateful for the stunning views. I enjoyed activities like "Quad Bike" and "Sandwich Harbour". The accommodation in the national park was also brilliant.

My guide is not only a professional guide but also kind, friendly, reliable, and good-hearted. And I like his driving manner. I enjoyed the tour a lot thanks to him.

I had a great time in Namibia.
I would like to come back there with my family, and then I'll certainly ask "People Tours And Safaris" again.

Fantastic experience! Andrew is an amazing guide. He showed me typical locations for bar hopping in the City and in Katutura and introduced me to wonderful people who shared a ton of interesting information about Namibia, its history and its people. I would highly recommend it!

This was my first camping trip. My main concerns were will I be able to sleep and how is the facility situation, I am not a fan of pieing without walls around me.
Due to the quality of the camping grounds, it was basically like sleeping in a hostel with shared bathrooms and included light morning exercise (taking the tent down). Apart from two times, the guides were always able to provide clean toilets along the way (sometimes without soap but always with running water). The two times were kind of pointed out to us ahead because we were too far away from any buildings.

I am used to traveling with friends or solo traveling but not in an organized group, I will probably do organized group tours again. My guides Gregg and Bronihel were awesome. They were friendly, calm, helpful, and in a good mood for the 12 days straight!! I was happy about their cooking and the information they provided. Due to the roads, it was sometimes hard to ask questions during the drive but in the end, we got all questions answered. They spotted a lot of animals which I would have missed. And it is very nice to be able to not decide or plan anything but just get up and start into a well-organized day. I thought it would be exhausting to be in the group the entire time but apart from the time in the car, there were many opportunities to get some time to yourself.

I have probably forgotten to mention a lot of other positive things but I think the headline summarises it well... And the program tells you what sights you can expect.

    So one last time:
Thank you again to Gregg and Bronihel for making my time in Namibia one of the greatest vacations I have ever had!

LOVED IT! Rodrig was our tour guide. He was amazing. He is super nice, professional, and knowledgeable. He is well informed in the history, flora/fauna, geography, and geology of Namibia. So glad we decided to do the 3 day trip instead of the 2 day. It’s the same but with an extra night in the lodge where you can look at the stars and enjoy the desert views. You’ll be back in Windhoek around 1:30pm on the last day. Highly recommended!

Andrew, my guide for the solo Katutura township tour, was exceptional. His deep knowledge, passion, and genuine connection to the community made the experience truly unforgettable. Andrew's storytelling brought the history and culture of Katutura to life, while his empathy and respect for the residents ensured meaningful interactions throughout the tour. Overall, Andrew's guidance elevated the tour, leaving a lasting impression and making it a journey of genuine discovery. Highly recommended.

Beautiful experience, we saw many different landscapes and animals and felt like we really got to know Namibia. The tents were easy to set up, comfortable matrasses and sleeping bags, Chimunya and Gideon were good guides and special shout out to smithley for the incredible food and good times!
