- Andrea W1 contributionAbsolutely and utterly delighted with the Babies of the Wild is Life animal sanctuary . But then feeding the Giraffe comes a close second, and then ......in fact everything. The welcome , brilliant tour guide, food fabulous amazing diversity of healthy animals who are happy to be where they are . It reminds us how important conservation is here in Zimbabwe. So respect they ethos on rescued animals and the reintegration in the wild if possible.
A must if in Harare for visitors who are short on time . You will not regret it.Written 23 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Sivananthan KokulLusaka, Zambia238 contributionsKuimba Shiri Bird Sanctuary is a delightful destination. Restaurant is set up is awesome, under the spreading trees in the garden and the bank of the Lake Chivero. Bird sanctuary has number of birds. We did enjoy the meals with Zambezi beers. We visited in April 22.Written 21 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MandalizAbbotsford, Canada47 contributionsDear friends arranged an outing to Thetford Game Reserve to celebrate my birthday with me. You will need to book well ahead of time as this is a popular attraction and well worth including in your itinerary. I visited in 2018, but I'm not able to click an earlier date than Feb 2020.Written 9 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Terence ZHarare, Zimbabwe6 contributionsLocated just 5 kilometers on the cities outskirts of Harare, the Mukuvisi Woodlands is the ideal spot to spend a personal day out of the office to unwind and have some personal time or spend time with loved ones. The quiet and tranquil nature reserve has many hidden and nestled layby resting spots to which one can either have a picnic or simply soak up all of the wildlife and natural attraction around the reserve. Offering a whole jungle’s worth of fauna and flora. The entire woodland reserve covers more than 200 hectares, and if you’re lucky you’ll get a glimpse of impalas, giraffes, crocodiles, and zebras. Other conventional activities include guided pony rides and bird walks, of which I highly doubt one would part take in as the ambiance at Mukuvisi is so relaxing, one can not but enjoy the serenity over a cold beverage from the nearby coffee shop. And to cap off the experience, one the way out a souvenir store in which to purchase a keepsake of what will no doubt ably a day to remember.Written 14 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Sam WSydney, Australia12 contributionsWent here with the kids on a day trip from Harare. Had a land cruiser. Would not have been happy without a 4wd. We did self drive. Probably should have hired a guide so we could see rhinos (we didn’t see them). Had fun by ourselves though and saw lots of other stuff. Had a lovely picnic at bushman’s point. Facilities are a bit run down but far cheaper than private well maintained parks so you get what you pay for. We also had the place largely to ourselves mid week and that was novel. The attached map would be handy (we only got it at the end).Written 21 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Travel Tribe ZimbabweHarare, Zimbabwe45 contributionsThe hike up is strenuous unless you are used to hiking. There are about two summits before you reach the last one. The best views are at the final summit. You’ll need to carry water and food. The bbq stands are at the beginning of the trail.Written 3 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Tour63390910 contributionsI was there as a volunteer for a month and I had the most amazing time. People are welcoming, Sarah is great and always available to answer your questions and organizing activities for you to discover the region, the culture etc.
The place is beautiful, you'll fall in love with it and especially with each and every one being rescued there, willing to offer and receive so much love. The place is completely ethical and I would definitely recommend volunteers from all over the world to experience Twala as a volunteer. I'm gonna miss it so much and can't wait to go back as soon as it's possible <3Written 20 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Fortune_MadhukuHarare Province, Zimbabwe232 contributionsI visited the Park on new year eve for a braai with my family. Its a nice place with beautiful gardens. Entry charges are affordable and there are lots of activities for the whole familyWritten 25 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sall23 contributionsGreat place for a bike ride, long walk & picnic.
Many different trees.
There aren't enough benches to sit and it would be better if they had walking trials.Written 27 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Archie MoyoHarare, Zimbabwe3 contributionsHaka is one of the best places. Very quiet and you don't have to drive out of the city. The safest game park, you can park and take a walk around the park as there are no dangerous critters in here. You can drive further in and park close to the water. I have made this my go to place for some quiet time. the prices is a bit flip floppy though...even for current Zimbabwe. The US Dollar price seems to go up and down, sometimes its $3 sometimes its $4Written 9 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Edith KayingaGoromonzi, Zimbabwe1 contributionThe place is breathtaking. Great for that getaway, far far from the madding crowd. No cellphone reception so you are really taking a break. My only challenge was the road to the park, too rugged even for my 4x4 truck. The owners should consider at least grading the gravel road to make the park accessible. Otherwise everything else was brilliant.Written 23 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Tomasz. RPoznan, Poland75 contributionsYeah, it could be a very very nice place for relax and walking with green grass and old trees. Unfortunately in real grass is more yellow than green, place is little dirty , patchs are destroyed. Harare is very safety city with friendly people and Im not affraid of thiefs but propbably this garden is only 1 place wich You shouldnt visit at night.Written 17 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LindyHarare, Zimbabwe41 contributionsWent there after finding out Kingfisher was closed for a private function. Was very happy to see such a serene and natural dam in Harare, it wasn't too crowded and my friends and I had a braai there. There's horse riding and canoeing, will come back for that. The prices were reasonable although the park needs to be maintained better.Written 28 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- kerichmelikHarare, Zimbabwe220 contributionsWe rode bicycles from northern Harare and then picnicked at Ewanrigg before riding back. A nice afternoon! The grounds could be better maintained so I hear it's only a shadow of it's former self but still a nice place for a group to meet up.Written 4 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
