- ajnavy04Denver, CO212 contributionsThis is the main market in San Ignacio. There is quite a bit of grocery food and day to day clothing available here for the locals. There are also some decent tourist/souvenir shops to visit. I spent about 45 minutes or so here, I wouldn't stay much longer than that.Written 15 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mark L75 contributionsInspiring people! I had been looking for a nice piece of Belizean art. While in San Ignacio I heard that Walter lived in a nearby village. His WhatsApp number was on Facebook so I sent a message. He was happy for me to stop by his studio. Bullet Tree Falls is an idyllic, peaceful, simple village where he and his wife live surrounded by natural beauty ... and the cool symphony of foraging chickens. They are infectiously energetic souls thrilled with being alive. Walter agreed to do a commissioned painting for me to preserve my favorite experiences from Belize: Mayan ruins, beautiful jungles, animals (including specific species of my request), and intriguing local folklore. Somehow he managed to capture it all in vibrant Caribbean colors and his characteristic landscape perspective. It is a treasure of a souvenir! Please make an effort to stop by to visit and pick up a Castillo work of art. The painting (and the memories) will make you smile every time you look at it. Thank you Walter and Mito!Written 14 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Lumberjack67Denver, CO33 contributionsThis store might be an arts and crafts store for the locals but is an excellent place for tourists to pick up souvenirs. They have everything from t-shirts and hats to collectible patches, spoons, and stickers, not to mention some of the best wood carvings around. There’s also a great coffee shop within that serves a wide variety of coffee and snacks. The Art Box is also a great pit stop between the airport and the resorts in the rainforest and beach. Clean bathrooms and a great excuse to stretch your legs. You won't leave empty-handed, I guarantee.Written 25 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- jeangoto3 contributionsA unique spot for some really cool souvenirs! A nice Rasta vibe, the man running the shop was very nice and very helpful. He made sure the store felt clean and safe and it seems he puts a lot of great thought into what he sells. Definitely recommend!Written 28 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

Everyday the hotel stocked the room with different flavors. It was so good that we looked up the maker on the web. The woman who makes it works from her house. The taxi did not no where it was so the hotel took us there. It is also sold in one store in San Ignacio.
What a wonderful treat to bring home.Written 31 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - April HJersey City, NJ16 contributionsWe visited the San Ignacio Market looking for unique gifts/souvenirs and didn’t leave disappointed. We were so happy that we wandered into this small shop and came across mostly handmade, beautiful items. If you are looking for something special, made in Belize, be sure to stop in. You can find them towards the left side of the market when facing the river.Written 11 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- danigross88Christchurch, New Zealand461 contributionsMy wife and I visited here from San Ignacio using the local bus. Took about 30mins to get there and cost $2BZ each and we just asked to be dropped off at Mama’s Hot sauce factory and the bus driver knew where it was. Upon just hailed a bus from the other side of the road.
The factory/gardens themselves are pretty small but the tour is good and detailed. Costs 15BZE each and lasts about 1hr. The guide who usually does the tours was sick when we came, so we had another employee called Tyrone who was wonderful. Clearly very passionate about what his does and the ethos of the company. We really enjoyed it and learned a lot!
This is a nice activity for half a day when visiting San Ignacio. Definitely recommend it as a cheap thing to do with no need for a tour agency or a taxi! All in less than $20BZE pp (minus anything you buy from the onsite shop) for a mornings entertainment! Great value for Belize!Written 7 December 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Kristcha D1 contributionThe BEST little bookstore in the country. I stop in almost every weekend to enjoy browsing and buying books, this store has so many unique books that everyone will find something they like. Friendly staff and beautiful store makes it a must for any book lover! <3Written 7 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
