Great bus service and do visit the fascinating Waiheke Museum, open Wed and weekends and the Dead Dog Bay, sculpture and wetland park - magical!
The island has many nature walks and camping grounds (Whakanewha Bay is secluded and beautiful), but for the less adventurous there are many excellent wineries to visit with outstanding restaurants.
