What travellers are saying
- UaladunItaly20 contributionsI have been living by beach places for almost all my life, but this location definitively caught my attention!
What an amazing place!Written 26 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - GC_TPHDublin, Ireland233 contributionsCala Pulcino was under mostly closed due to the risk of rocks falling due to the beach.
However positioned just beside the greatly famous ISOLA DEI CONIGLI beach, shares the colour of the water, the beauty and the African/Caribbean flavour.
it is another MUST SEE (if it is legal to do so), and hopefully the Sicilian Authorities will work on this.
It takes a good 25/30 minuted by walk to reach the beach, so it is another experience like to be in Arizona canyon or creek.
Fantastic.Written 4 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can do some snorkeling and it is friendly enough for people who do not swim very well. It is way cleaner than Cala Francese. The owners are very nice. They kept on bringing snacks, coffee and wine to the people on the beach. Prices are a little bit lower than on the rest of the beaches and this one is very well kept. It is a very nice experience overall. In the afternoon the beach is in the shadow of the hill, so better visit in the morning.Written 23 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RosemarypatriziMilan, Italy50 contributionsNothing very special. Very tiny beach. In August to croud. Easy to get there. Not to stay all day. Parking place. No restaurants. But you can rent a umbrella and a cot. Quite expensive.Written 17 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kety_MadridBelgrade, Serbia69 contributionsThis is definitely my favorite lampedusian beach, not white sandy but rocky and not comfortable for reaching, but once you reach it you'll fall in love!
The water is so calm and clear, with big rocks and caves everywhere around, made for jumping and diving and exploring of nature..
My biggest regret is that we discovered it the last day of vacation, if opposite that would probably be my favorite everyday choice!
So, take the scooter and go find this hidden treasure, you'll be amazed!Written 13 September 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Hotel is more like a 2 star than 3, however it is very clean and hosts are very helpful. Pricewise, like the rest of the island, it is quite expensive considering. The beach at Cala Giutgia is small and overcrowded. For the ultimate experience in crystal clear seas either book a whole day chartered boat trip which will stop you in all the best spots for swimming or rent your own boat. However, if you are suggested a boat trip by the hotel, make sure you agree on the price beforehand with the boat crew as they will fleece you if they can. ( we were told to pay €70 per couple and kid went free at the hotel, and after the day was over the boat captain asked for €100 - €40 each and €20 for child. When confronted he said that the OTHER captain was the one who made deals with the hotel and he did not have anything to do with it). Also, car rentals: fuel prices are sky high in lampedusa, and the cars for rent are either battered suzuki jeeps or old fiat puntos. No a/c and check the engine for any strange noises before you rent. Our suzuki had a problem with the fuel intake and wasted at least half of it. Eating out: nearly everywhere you will find good food, mostly based on fresh fish dishes, and it's not cheap either. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves, but after spending €2000 for five days for 2 adults and a toddler ( flights, accomodation, food), next time i will search elsewhere.
Do:
Go to baia dei conigli. It's worth the exhausting climb ( take food and water with you)
Go on a chartered boat trip ( or self drive if you can)
Go round the island. Unexpected beauty spots crop up at intervals.
Try to get to the Tabaccara beach. Amazing sea.
Go round searching for value in food. Prices aren't cheap.Written 14 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
