- DebLJRaleigh, NC123 contributionsSo much more interesting and educational then the Pilsner Urquell Brewery tour. This place provides tons of background on brewing beer with a large number of artifacts. Everything in English also.Written 18 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- DavidDundonaldEdinburgh, UK897 contributionsIt is well worth spending 20 mins having a look around this impressive building. Although I'm not religious , you can still marvel at the craftsmanship and contemplate all that has happened in the world since this church was built.Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SimioespiaMunich, Germany196 contributionsFor 90lc, it's a small tour in the underground of the church. - J HApo,Ae New York85 contributionsWe discovered this castle while meandering our way on the back roads from Prague to Bavaria and I'm so glad we stopped. It's a nice hike up to the castle from the parking area, part is paved and part is rock. The rock trail is in good repair and easy to walk. Parking does have a cost and it is either Czech bills or card.
The castle has a low entry fee, 450 Czech for a family of 3, so about $20. To see inside the castle, you need a guide and that is what the fee is for. Zdenek was our guide and he was great. The tour is in Czech but we were given text to follow and Zdenek spoke great English and was able to answer any questions we had.
While this place is off the main roads, it was totally worth the stop.Written 30 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The parking now costs 100 Kč per car, guided tour 160 Kč per person, discounted 130 Kč. We chose limited unguided walk for 50 Kč as we were pressed for time. The short access directly to the ticket booth and castle gate is extremely uneven and steep, full of jutting stones and slippery on a rainy day when we were there. Once you get in, the walking gets much easier, as there are more level dirt paths and maintained grass areas. Inside the restored horse stable was a nice photo exhibition of Šumava localities. When you are done here, consider a stop at the well known restaurant in the town square.Written 11 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BlodenweddPrague, Czech Republic350 contributionsThe baroque apothecary in Klatovy is unusually preserved. You will see many original prescriptions, bottles, medicines... The guide is passionate about the topic and knows much about medicine (ours was led in Czech). Located at the city square and worth visiting! The admission fee is 80 CZK per adult.Written 22 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Hanneke_HeinekenAmsterdam30 contributionsWe came here for the unique mix of old and new style castle merged in one. And yes, for the children in hopes of bow and arrow shooting. And yeehah! There were three options, for a small extra fee (40czk): regular, cross bow and a trebuchet (katapult). My children loved this place. Also the small chess like game and the exhibition with 'build your own castle' blocks got them going.
We did not do the rest of the castle because we'd known the tours are to boring for kids. Adult me would have liked to. We skimmed the surrounds of the bridge pillars and climbed some rocks in stead.
I would deduct a point for the restaurant where they don't have an English menu, but honestly the food looked good. Shame though we dare not gamble lunch there with the kids because of that. Possible improvement there.
We would come again if in region.Written 2 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We drove to Horsovsky Tyn over narrow country roads and arrived late morning, toured the castle, enjoyed a very good cheap lunch at a place recommended by locals, and drove back to Germany all in one worthwhile day. A very cordial guide gave us a castle brochure in English since only the Czech tour was available at that hour, but herself spoke very clear English and translated just for us at times. She showed us where we could safely stow our umbrellas while we were inside. The castle connects to the Trauttmansdorf nobility of Merano, Italy, where Empress "Sissi" often lodged. Significant artifacts, room furnishings with many framed photos and portraits illustrated a storied golden age of European grandeur.Written 19 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
