My wife and I did the tour of the Buddhist temples in a half day tour and the following day visited two Old Believers villages with Alisa as guide and Elena as driver. We were very happy with our tours. Alisa is knowledgeable about the history of Buddhism in this region and we were able to have discussions with her about local Buddhist practice. I appreciated her openness to the local Buddhist culture and she was very respectful of their practices.

Alisa was equally knowledgeable about the Old Believers. After touring the village museum at Tarbagatai, she translated as I plied the village priest with numerous questions. He was very kind and patient and generous with his time. He even showed us the extravagant handmade gate to his house which was crafted by his son.

We were also hosted for a meal in an Old Believer home. It was a leisurely 2 hour meal and conversation with Nadia, our host. Once again, she was happy to translate my endless questions and Nadia's responses.

These tours were an excellent value. Alisa and Elena are an excellent team!

Really interesting visit of the Ulan Ude city with the guide Dima who is very friendly.

He will take you to the main interesting landmarks and explain in detail the history of the city.

The tour is free because it is based on donation and if you ask the guide he can definitely help you out with booking buses, excursions and give you advices on what to do.

    5/5 recommend !

We had been looking for a day trip in the Ulan Ude region. We contacted Daki Tour with E-Mail a week before our stay in Ulan Ude. We booked a taylor made private tour. We were picked up by car by the company manager Elena and the guide Larissa. We preferred to have a guide who speaks German. Larissa not only spoke excellent German, she not even had an accent and a broad vocabulary. Her language skills are outstanding! As a history graduate she knows everything about history and the people of the Ulan Ude region. First we went to the Ethnographic Museum of Ulan Ude. Afterwards we visited Ivolginsky Datsan and had a lunch there. Next station was the Omulevaya point. After that we hiked to the “Merkit's castle, what was the the highlight of the day. Then we enjoyed a pick nick for dinner.

We really enjoyed the day with Larissa and Elena. They are both so friendly and a fun to be around. For us, this day was the best day of our whole trip of the Transsiberian Railway.

    We trully recommend this tour.

We wanted a little more than the usual cookie cutter tours offered by most travel agents, so we booked with Lilia. The Ivolginsky Datsan may be touristy, but we get to experience more insights and religious activities. Lilia's father also performed blessing for us at a beautiful sacred hill.

Then we went to the Soviet era Dacha, which is very charming. We learned a lot about the history of the time. Got to experience the Russian childhood from Soviet time and also ate delicious borscht. The owner of Dacha was also very kind to show us some of stuff in his house.

Definitely an interesting local cultural experience for us.
