What travellers are saying
- aa27Lausanne, Switzerland547 contributionsA nice cave, visited in a small group with a helpful guide, describing the cave and its story, starting with its discovery. You walk down about 60 meters, along a safe path, and then back up after a suggestive lights and sound show in the deeper chamber, evocating the moment of the cave discovery. Particularly impressive the formations in huge "sails" shape, and the huge columns.
Outside, a nice view point is worth a stop, and from the parking, a panel indicates a short didactic walk up to another nice viewpoint.Written 3 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have a lavender field near where I live in the UK, so I actually wanted to compare it to a french version. The main difference was that at Maison de la Lavande the fields were free to visit. Free!
Initially I stopped at the cafe area for drinks and was served by lovely friendly staff who didn't roll their eyes at my poor attempts to order in French. Sat rehydrating with the view of the fields before having a wander about.
This was late afternoon / early evening for reference, so the place was quiet and the lavender wasn't quite in full bloom.
It's a beautiful spot and I'm so pleased I stopped by.Written 22 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Among the trees there are plenty of games (using stones, sticks etc) and a treasure hunt. There are picnic tables and you can prebook food. The place is like a fairy tale, kids love it and it is fun for adults too.
We were impressed by their preparation for covid - the tables were disinfected after each usage, so were the games and toys. There was running water and soap to allow all visitors to wash hands.Written 2 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So my husband and I went into the cave while my parents stayed behind with the children at the dinosaur "zoo." Many reviews here are quite negative of the "zoo" and although there is definitely an element of cheese, my children enjoyed it. There are A LOT of dinosaurs to see, more than I expected, but maybe my expectations were very low considering the reviews here. There were also a bunch of scenes featuring Neanderthals and early man, which captured my children's imagination and is especially relevant to the region, although jumping from dinos to man is a bit off scientifically...There was also a sandbox display at the end where children could dig for bones/clean off a "skeleton."
The cave was nice but not the most stunning I have seen. There was also a playground and a trampoline (my kids did not go on it in the end) which was appreciated.Written 10 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Often handcrafted jewellery is either ridiculously expensive or not worth buying.
But here there is a creative flair along with a price that is fair.
My wife and I visited, were left to browse whilst my wife considered every item as suitable to wear before finally norrowing her choice to being between two items.
This, of course, provided me with the opportunity to say, "You must have them both, my dear."
And so she did. Next year we will return and the budget will allow for another purchase ....or two.Written 28 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I don't drink and my wife like just an occasional glass of wine. She tells me that the wine is delicious and I believe her as I bought two bottles of the most delicious grape juice I have ever tasted.Written 26 May 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
