What travellers are saying
- Eilir7733Sisters, OR3 contributionsThis is a cool place to visit. Lots of history here. Also you can park either at the top or the bottom, and explore the historic upper part or the historic downtown part at the bottom. It doesn't cost money. Definitely look up the pictures and history online before you visit!Written 5 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cathy CInver Grove Heights, MN303 contributionsI'm so happy I did my research so I knew about this turn off. We took it and had to pay $10 upon entering (our National Parks Pass didn't apply evidently, but would've if we were camping - what??), but it was well worth it. There were limited parking spots, but we did find one and got out to hike around the immediate area. We were drawn to the view of Mt Hood. INCREDIBLE!!! We got our Christmas card pic and will also be mounting it for our wall. Highly recommend.Written 4 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Yvonne G9 contributionsThe museum provides a great look at this part of history by various hands-on activities, dress up, short movies, games, and reading of posted facts at displays. All age groups were able to enjoy the experience.Written 13 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Liane PLake Oswego, Oregon, Usa13 contributionsBest place for people watching and shopping for organic goodies. They also have music. Open om weekends during the spring & summer month and then for special occassions during the rest of the year.Written 11 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- PNW JOE DIRT3 contributionsCamp ground was open but the springs were "officially" closed. You can still access the springs, though the main structure is condemned, there are 5 other tubs you may use.
Since its closed im not sure if the rangers even go up there. The bathrooms at the hotspring are closed and I spent a good 5 hours without a mountain pass because there was no way to pay.
There is no service up there, so plan accordingly.
Do expect nudity, especially since its closed.
IF YOU PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT! Its absolutely stunning up there and its quickly ruined when you see trash and clothes laying around. If you're going to do that just leave the state, we don't want you!
One more thing, the spring is very hot! So remember to use the cooling pipes to adjust the temp of your tub.Written 21 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Jojo97034Lake Oswego, OR29 contributionsLove taking a late afternoon paddle off of the beach at George Rogers Park. Nice area to easily get on and off the paddle board - parking is a bit tough on hot days.Written 31 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Laressa S6 contributionsLabor Day, so live band played. Food and beverage vendors, there. Picnic tables with umbrellas. Masks required. Lovely Dahlias that are so different from each other. The colors and shape amazing. Free parking and entrance. Lost my sunglasses and someone gave to Lost and Found...thank you person. Gift shop with so much to choose from. Cut flowers to purchase, seemed everyone walked away with some. Has a catalog to order from. Families and pets were in attendance. Great way to spent a few or more hours out of the house.Written 19 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Debbie PWashington State910 contributionsI thought the museum would be small when I went in. Its pretty big! I found a lot of interesting things. It took us about 2 hours to go through it, but it was worth it!Written 10 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- FalleurMilwaukie, OR75 contributionsLots of vendors, convenient location, but parking is a challenge unless you are early in the morningWritten 21 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nancy BPittsburgh, Pennsylvania12 contributionsEvery time I have ever gone to Oregon, a trip to Timberline is a definite. The ambience, the food, the history all make for a great place to visit - for a day or for a stay. Just love this place!Written 11 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- T FRedmond, OR278 contributionsEnjoyed seeing the new artwork and listening to live music. They also had grapes and crackers and cheese, and sparkling cider.
Was a nice, not time consuming, thing to do.Written 6 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - pneon99Thousand Oaks, CA229 contributionsBeautiful viewpoint overlooking Mount Hood and the Sandy River. No Hiking of any kind just park walk 10 feet and take in the amazing view. Its a great stop on your way to all of the waterfalls near Mount Hood. There is a small parking lot which was empty the day we went as it was a bit rainy. Worth a stop.Written 22 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Excursion29599616 contributionsThis is one of my favorite hikes and I have been several time this year. In early February, my friend and I hiked in sunny warm weather. When my daughter arrived in March, we were told by the ranger we could only approach the hike from the west with snow shoes! We waited a couple of weeks and encountered patches of snow and a roaring river. Recently, in early August, the river seemed calmer and quieter.Written 3 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Rishu SNew York City, NY58 contributionsI can't even believe how good the day was and how beautiful the lighting was. We started at around 3.45 PM and it took us 1 hour 10 mins to go to the top. The elevation gain is pretty steady, although its 1200ft so you need to be an average hiker to tackle this one. Its almost a 5 mile round trip, a hiking pole really helps manage the elevation gain towards the end of the hike. No views while hiking as you are just hiking up surrounded by beautiful pine trees, at the end you are treated to a beautiful view of Mount hood. I would highly recommend this hike to anyone who is going to this area. Its a must do activity.Written 18 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
