Without dought a beautiful place to visit, just like stepping back in time. The one thing we found that spoilt it was some of the locals. Who appeared to be so far up their own backsides they could have a conversation with their colon.

The National Trust for Scotland do an excellent job here. The palace is really well run and preserved with the wee film at the beginning very informative. The cafe was great - such friendly efficient NTS staff.

My wife and I walked up the long hill from the village to take a look at the abbey, and we're so glad that we did. There wasn't another soul around, so it made our visit even more special. It was so quiet and still, which gave the experience such a magical touch. We spent quite a while sitting inside taking in the serene atmosphere of the place. Just a wonderful moment in our lives.

This visit was purely for me to say I had seen the Mercat Cross under which Jamie Fraser had stood in Outlander.

Wasn’t a really clever idea as we were in a motorhome.

Beautiful village, the local I met while walking to the Cross was very friendly.

Worth the time to tick off my bucket list.

Set on a lofty viewpoint with views over the Firth of Forth and linked to a revivalist castellated imposing building the Orangery tearoom is as grand as you could wish for. Enjoyed a brioche style roll and a competent coffee at the courtyard seating area.
A little walk from the west car park soon brings you to the marked entrance then up the path to the well appointed and designed tearoom.
This new addition to Culross' hospitality offerings deserves to do well.

Some nice wee souvenirs of various kinds. Lady was open to questions & friendly. Booked the palace tour with no problem.

Loved the statue of this great naval captain to celebrate his many achievements, not forgetting his exploits for Chile. A lovely scenic square for it to be located in. Loved Culross as a whole and here in particular. Don't miss this place if in Fife

Rickety but great views with sea mist rolling in. Interesting history attached to it as well it being connected to George Bruce and early coal mining.

Worth a few minutes of your time as you walk around the village. Interesting piece of history.
Requires a slight detour as you head up towards the abbey.

This war memorial is well maintained and in a quiet position just next to the car park. There is also a seat if you want a few moments peaceful reflection.

Only small but beautiful, idyllic, well kept gardens. A grest place to sit and relax and take some time out while out with the dog or whomever you walk with. A great little spot to take a wee rest especially on a sunny day.

Park at the western end of the west car park thete is a path initially cobbled heading up the hill. Ten minutes walking will bring you to the old kirk.
A small ruined church in well maintained grounds. No roof and a little overgrown with ivy. Thete are some interesting gravestones the latest of which are from the 1930s.
Well worth the short walk up the hill.

The Tron is a small square pedestal surmounted by a wooden staff and iron bracket; it supported the 'tron' or beam used for weighing merchandise. It is located on the town square of Culross . The Tron post itself with a crossbeam attached to it, and was used as a weighing beam. What we can see today is a modern reconstruction on the likely site of a medieval tron.
