What travellers are saying
- the t106 contributionsWithout dought a beautiful place to visit, just like stepping back in time. The one thing we found that spoilt it was some of the locals. Who appeared to be so far up their own backsides they could have a conversation with their colon.Written 13 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cjr5264Glasgow, UK3 contributionsThe National Trust for Scotland do an excellent job here. The palace is really well run and preserved with the wee film at the beginning very informative. The cafe was great - such friendly efficient NTS staff.Written 30 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AlexTheJockWigston, UK2Â 138 contributionsMy wife and I walked up the long hill from the village to take a look at the abbey, and we're so glad that we did. There wasn't another soul around, so it made our visit even more special. It was so quiet and still, which gave the experience such a magical touch. We spent quite a while sitting inside taking in the serene atmosphere of the place. Just a wonderful moment in our lives.Written 28 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Deb C45 contributionsThis visit was purely for me to say I had seen the Mercat Cross under which Jamie Fraser had stood in Outlander.
Wasn’t a really clever idea as we were in a motorhome.
Beautiful village, the local I met while walking to the Cross was very friendly.
Worth the time to tick off my bucket list.Written 11 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Enjoyed a brioche style roll and a competent coffee at the courtyard seating area.
A little walk from the west car park soon brings you to the marked entrance then up the path to the well appointed and designed tearoom.
This new addition to Culross' hospitality offerings deserves to do well.Written 30 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ronald RStromness, UK269 contributionsLoved the statue of this great naval captain to celebrate his many achievements, not forgetting his exploits for Chile. A lovely scenic square for it to be located in. Loved Culross as a whole and here in particular. - alfie50Southwold, UK2Â 795 contributionsOnly small but beautiful, idyllic, well kept gardens. A grest place to sit and relax and take some time out while out with the dog or whomever you walk with. A great little spot to take a wee rest especially on a sunny day.Written 3 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - alfie50Southwold, UK2Â 795 contributionsPark at the western end of the west car park thete is a path initially cobbled heading up the hill. Ten minutes walking will bring you to the old kirk.
A small ruined church in well maintained grounds. No roof and a little overgrown with ivy. Thete are some interesting gravestones the latest of which are from the 1930s.
Well worth the short walk up the hill.Written 10 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is located on the town square of Culross . The Tron post itself with a crossbeam attached to it, and was used as a weighing beam. What we can see today is a modern reconstruction on the likely site of a medieval tron.Written 6 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
