Beautifully situated in the midst of a park containing many majestic mature trees, this ancient but wonderfully restored garden is well worth visiting.
Enjoy a nice stroll from Bangor Castle (not so much a castle as an old stately home now used as a great free museum and the local council offices) through Castle Park to the walled garden where will you will find...

A really beautifully maintained park with plenty of free parking and well laid paths for walking or for wheelchairs, buggies etc. Lots of walks through the forest or to the beach and ample space for play or a picnic.
Love crawfordsburn country park - easy to get to, amazing scenery, great facilities, spacious carparking, so many parts to it, fabulous walks....and it's all free.

Great place on the weekend for live music, enjoy the park which has easy access to bangor town centre, kids play park, wild birds, library, adult bowling park and lots more.
Several beautiful flowers were still in bloom making the park very colourful, these flowers look amazing when they are all in full bloom come spring and early summer.

Park the car in Groomsport and walk round McConnell Point, stop in the newly refurbished Esplanade Bar for a sherbet and do the return.
It's a lovely quiet beach with clean toilets, a free car park and just a few swings.
Crawfordsburn Beach Crawfordsburn

This stunning beach is accessible via the Crawfordsburn Country Park and it is a whole lot better than the country park.
Seems the main way to access this beach is through Crawfordsburn Country Park so qualifies as a hidden gem.

Took the back road to the lighthouse cause it's easier for my daddio and came down past the lighthouse (love these views!) down the steps and along the coast path back to the car park.
The car park is free and a gentle walk to under the lighthouse and back took us an hour.
