The view was amazing with the fall colors. It is definitely a worthy trip to go and enjoy nature at its purest form.

This garden is kept so clean and healthy! The views are incredible and the staff does a fabulous job with the upkeep of these plants and gardens.

We went in one winter night to try and catch the auroras. No luck with such cloudy skies but we appreciated the serenity of the place, and the fact that they have benches to sit on, especially that Aurora chasing can take hours and the ground is icy wet.

We were there on a tour with The Green Adventure, really beautiful place and nice beach. We will never forget this arctic picnic in this village.

It was a cold, windy and snowy January day and Polaria is just a 5 minute walk from the main Tromso hotels. It was well worth taking a look: well-run and friendly with a good mix of aquatic life, educational information and audio-visual presentations. A highlight was the massive, high resolution audiovisual theatre, running a range of nature titles through the day - worth the entrance fee alone. The aquariums were diverse and captivating. The resident seals seemed healthy and happy and are to benefit from a much enlarged enclosure in the next 2 years. We will return in the future, when a 5 star review will be very likely.

Very lucky to have visited on a sunny day. About 1 hour drive + ferry ride from Tromso. It offers epic views on a clear day, and much less crowded than the city. Snowmobiling tour or skiing tour with guide strongly recommended, as the best scenic areas are off-road. It is also worth to spend more days in the area for exploring on foot. Do note that weather can change rapidly or deteriorates quickly on any day, so always check the weather and avalanche forecast before heading out.

A lovely place to have a walk, especially when exploring Tromso by foot. We walked all around the lake which was a lot quicker than expected, also got to see some locals cross-country skiing.

This lovely garden is just a few steps away from the cruise port. It’s divided into departments, showcasing different plant groups. The biggest are the alpine rockeries, with lots of paths to explore. Most of the plants are labelled, which is very informative. There’s a small café for refreshments and entry is free.

It was a pretty rainy day when we went, but still most of the animals were outside. You can go into their "stables" - which are very cute red houses - to read about the animal and learn a bit more about their habits.
The zoo is big enough to spend half a day with children who are interested. Our 17 month old does not yet have the focus to spend a lot of time with each animal, so it took us an hour.
The family run business has a variety of animals on display (donkey, horses, goats of all sorts, fowl, ...). They seem to be very well taken care of. And on top of that the owners are incredibly nice and hospitable.
Be aware that they do not take all foreign bankcards, so bring cash to make sure.
    Very well worth a visit!

Take the hike and see some beautiful scenery. Be careful in winter it can get very icy. But with spikes it should me no problem.

We took bus 33 away from the city centre to reach Folkeparken. There was a jetty with a picnic table at its end surrounded by majestic views. The place was crowded with locals going about their exercises. You can take bus 34 back to the city centre after the visit.

Freezing cold temperatures, darkness, woods, a dog sled... an amazing experience. Thanks to the extra warm clothes provided onsite, the head lamps and the great guide, it was an unforgettable experience to manoeuver a sled in the dark. Somewhat physical, though, as you need to push a bit and help the dogs when going uphill.

Fall is probably not the best time to go since there isn't snow yet and it can get pretty cold and wet. It was still beautiful though.

Do not go here its a tourist trap.

Its too small, so go out with a guide in the real mountains. Like outdoor tromso!

The slopes are not marked, the elevator poles many are not cushioned so can be dangerous…

They stop the elevator for maintenance or high winds while you are using the elevator, not just when it is empty. and then don't make sure everyone is safe. Several around me have dropped after 30 minutes and slid down 50 to 80 meters unsafely.

The owner of the slope / ski rental is an amateur and then refers to the general conditions. He talks about safety but leave people behind. I left my gear up the mountain to walk down safely, and they did use the snowmobiele to pick the gear up instantly. But not me nor the other passengers.

They apologised to me but are too afraid to admit their mistakes.

I ski everywhere around the world and would avoid this place!!!
