I joined the Masar Ibriham through trekkers for 9 days on the trail from Jericho through Bethlehem to Hebron. Staff, guides and hosts in homes, Bedouin tents, and guest houses were extremely helpful, well-trained, good humored, and gracious. The variety of facilities introduced us to several flavors of Palestinian life. The trek was difficult but sooooo rewarding with scenery, local foods, cultural exposure. There was significant sharing of the history of the region and of the plight of Palestinians living under occupation conditions. As a Baptist clergyperson I would have appreciated more emphasis by the guides on the Biblical stories and Islamic traditions at special sites.
