What travellers are saying
- AlkaK27London, UK7 contributionsBrilliant find! Beautiful art and ceramics pieces. Very quickly and colourful.
We fell in love and bought a piece by RITA MACEDO

It wasn't very busy and we had a lovely couple of hours. It's fun for adults or children and a good idea for when it's raining or you wast a chill out.Written 8 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 881marktBrighton, UK8 contributionsA really interesting insight to the player , for 5euros it’s wasn’t too much out of the pocket , a nice way to spend an hour in Funchal.
had some nice personal touches from his young career to his current , with replica trophies of the abundance of career highlights.
Don’t go expecting a guided tour , it is a hall that is well decorated but plenty of photo opportunities and artefacts are on display.
A nice little gift shop in reception that had some nice itemsWritten 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. No photography allowed anywhere.
If you have done all the usual sights in Madeira this is good value at 3 euro entry and can tie in with the convent
Good for a rainy day or to get out of the sun or just because.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Totally fascinating in the choice of collectibles.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- skataliteRamsgate, UK57 contributionsInteresting museum which takes you on a chronological meander through the island's history. One star deducted for the pushy "chucker inner".Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jane H9 contributionsWe returned to see if there had been improvements since our last visit a year ago. The gardens on the whole remain very well maintained and the lofty trees, the shrubs and flower beds were in good condition and a pleasure to wander in and just sit and enjoy.
The orchid area at the top of the gardens had evidently received some good attention, pots were weed-free and only good specimens retained. Larger ornamental containers were also looking better. Sadly the wooden frame shading the whole area has not been repaired, with many broken slats making it look uncared for still. Maybe just a question of time or it could be a cost thing of course. But 30 seconds less of end of year fireworks might have paid for the restauration, making the Quinta das Cruces and its otherwise superb gardens once more one of the jewels in Funchal’s crown. Something to look forward to in 2024…Written 2 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I thought it was absolutely superb over a couple of floors, with the viewing area of central Funchal at the top level. The combination of Flemish works and Portuguese/Madeiran art worked really well.
I thought it was well worth the entrance fee, given the number of paintings and artifacts available. Certainly, a Must Do on any visit to Funchal.Written 10 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Gardengel-IoWWest Sussex, UK810 contributionsHalf hour enough unless very interested in looking at the old photographs. Much bigger place than it looks, large rooms with exhibits, mainly photos but some equipment of the era and beyond.
Lockers were a requirement for bags. Not really sure why, not much if anything to knock over, but was free.
7 minute (B&W of course) film show with English subtitles, tourism back in the day, the toboggans were a thing for tourists even back then.
There is a cafe at the back of the entrance courtyard.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He is very great for intellectual conversations ,well mannered & gave us great tour of the restaurant, bar & design center. We highly recommended that place & bar especially to anyone looking to have nice afternoon in Madeira with absolutely the best views of Funcal! Will definitely return!!!Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- R_A617Ayr, UK210 contributionsFascinating if you are interested in the history of electricity on the island!
Old British made turbines and examples of switches, rheostats, electrical equipment etc etc.
Upstairs there are interactive features involving current, which would be fun for children.
Although you get a printed guide in English, unfortunately there is only Portuguese on the explanatory panels throughout.
Although it was not open when we visited, there is a cafe and there are toilets available.Written 4 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A personal collection assembled over the years. Even if this isn’t your hobby, it transports you back to your youth lol. Nice little museum. Open 2.30 to 4.30 so plan the visit. Nice gallery and crafts around it with coffee shop. Slightly off the tourist track but Google maps found it fine.Written 11 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hashbyrneNew York City, NY41 contributionsWe were lucky enough to visit Restock and spent at least 2 hours there. You can find local artistry and work at accessible prices. You will find photography, painting, drawings, prints, and also crafts and small gifts. An excellent selection, expertly curated. The man who runs the place knows the story of each artist represented, which said a lot about their care and selection.Written 28 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
