It is an amazing day out for the kids. We were there with friends, so 2 kids of 4.5 yr and 2 of 2.5 yr. Some attractions, like the walking dinos, might be a bit scary for the youngest, but there is plenty to do and discover for everyone. The kids enjoyed a lot also the minigolf. The park can get pretty hot, I would have appreciated some more water-games / small pool to refresh (there is only one water-game, which didn't look really any fun, plus it comes with extra cost.). The dino lunch box is also very nice.

The Weerribben-Wieden National Park, with over 10,000 hectares, is the largest continuous low peat bog area in northwestern Europe. A labyrinth of ponds and lakes. We started by boat at the picturesque town of Giethoorn. There are several boatroutes. Beautiful and tranquil once you are out in the open and leaving Giethoorn because this place can be too crowded. A must do!

We were attracted to this museum mostly due to the forest experience they have for (small) kids, but the inside of the museum is however also very well done.
Throughout some dioramas, but also separate cabinets a very broad display of forest animals can be seen, that one can.. but likely will not see in the woodlands around the museum.
It turned out very educational for children as well and the children's quest they implemented, it remained interactive for both young kids (3 & 5 yo).
The outside forest trail with frog-themed activities finished it all off.

Fantastic area for a hike, with a river that runs through the forest where you can see crayfish wandering around.

It's not big but certainly worth visiting with kids

Van Heek a rich textilebaron made the creation of this park possible in 1872. It is a fine English landscape style park which makes you feel you are in nature, while in fact the groups of trees and waterbodies have been carefully planned. Many people perhaps do not notice their experience of nature is a bit of an illusion. Still a pleasant place to relax with old trees, an impressive six sculpture war memorial and a high fountain.

Despite a lot of park space is paved, bicycles are not allowed. The fences are unpleasant, not exactly inviting people to come in. Many locals were walking their dogs when I visited.

The National Park Sallandse Heuvelrug offers a lot of outdoor activity, whether you are mountain/biking, horseriding or on foot. The paths are very well marked and there are several places to sit down and eat or drink.

This lovely little park was just the ticket on a cold Autumn day. The trees were so incredibly beautiful and laid out so lovely it was glorious. It takes very little time to walk around but if you stop and really immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and smells of the place you can happily give your soul a boost and fill an hour or two.

We decided we’d take a boat trip one week after the summer holidays had ended. We didn’t want to be in Giethoorn, even though that’s beautiful as well, because we were really looking forward to a quiet trip in nature. And that’s exactly what we got. We only met about four other boats/kayaks during our trip. Highly recommendable when you want to avoid the crowds.

We visited this zoo with some friends. It is a small zoo but it has some animals that you can't find it in other zoo, even the bigger one. For example, 'Loewak' ( civet cat), the one kind that produce the most expensive coffee in the world, Kopi Luwak. You can also enjoy the Indonesian food in the 'Waroeng Makanan' (restaurant) and also get Indonesian souvenir.

The Archemerberg is one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the province of Overijssel. Very beautiful views, beautiful sloping heaths and dense forests. If you are lucky you will also encounter the sheep herd.

The park is located right outside Zwolle and it’s a nice place where to walk. There’s also a restaurant where you can stop and have something to eat or drink

The park is located outside the town centre of Zwolle. It's quite big green park for various activities. The petting zoo corner is for the young kids. There is also playground with climbing and slides and on the other side, there is sport park with skate park and basket ball court. We can see a historical dike "Marsdijk" from 1311. It's a nice park with a pond and good walking path, wheelchair accessible

This park is not particularly big but offers many walking, cycling or horseriding routes. Water activities are possible also. There are also a range of organised 'formal' activity options too. But this range of activities manage to co-exist without interfering with one another. Lovely nature-space

Mien Ruys was famous as a Landscape & Garden Architect. This garden was created in her hometown, Dedemsvaart. It's quite big area with different kind of style and flowers / plants, lots of artwork scattered al over the garden. We saw some special flowers ( at least for us as we've never seen them before). It's recommended visiting this garden if you're in the neighbourhood.
