#1 of 79 Sights & Landmarks in Friesland Province
Fantastic unesco site
Sweet cafe with a view too.
#2 of 79 Sights & Landmarks in Friesland Province
We walked 7 km from our WTC Hotel to visit many of the city sights; 1529 De Oldehove, 15th C Jacobean Church, 1884 St. Boniface, and the old market-hall.
But in Leeuwarden you can climb up the stairs to the top for a great view of the city....
Port of Harlingen Harlingen
#3 of 79 Sights & Landmarks in Friesland Province
Visited Harlingen to to view port from which our family immigrated in the 1840's.
One can get a very nice view from the port as well as reach the beach to enjoy the day there.
De Oldehove Leeuwarden
#4 of 79 Sights & Landmarks in Friesland Province
You have a great view of the city, the Prinsentuin (park), bridges, etc.
On top you have a nice view of parts of the city center and can see parts of the ancient character of the city.
1 Way to experience it
Blokhuispoort Leeuwarden

#6 of 79 Sights & Landmarks in Friesland Province
It is a nice place to visit by itself, but climb the tower for a couple of euros and you will have breathtaking views of Ameland and the Waddenzee.
#7 of 79 Sights & Landmarks in Friesland Province
Tower Bridge in London, Eiffel Tower in Paris, Euromast in Rotterdam; every interesting city has its signature landmark.
Walk through the portals and view the city as you would in times past.

From the top you have a great view in all directions, just amazing.
I recommend stopping here while bicycling around the island, because the views are amazing.
