What travellers are saying
- joDidcot, UK4 contributionsStunning. Beautiful views all around. Incredible history. Well worth visiting and well worth the entry price. Enjoy!Written 12 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- msa23_2000Chino Hills, CA1Â 197 contributionsThis is a charming street. It has lots of shops and restaurants (and I don't care about shopping) but the ambiance is great with people walking around and beautiful views. One of my most favorite places I have been.Written 15 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Alison WDorchester, UK83 contributionsA beautiful spot popular with locals and tourists., so a bit crowded - it was a weekend. The cove was pretty and the water clear as a bell. You could see fish swimming about so great for snorkelling. There was a good shower and we hired a sun bed. These are quite expensive at €25 each but the ground was too rocky to sit on for us. It's a captive audience so there is limited choice for this. Having said all that the scenery is stunning and it's probably my favourite beach of the holiday. There are over 130 steps which feels like a treck up in the heat! Take sea shoes and water and supplies for the day as they're cheaper from the mini market at the topWritten 26 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - joDidcot, UK4 contributionsWhat a lovely spot to see some great views and catch some shade and some peace from the Taormina madness in August. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a communal garden; benches, walkways, bins, fountains and photo opportunities (although you sometimes have to be patient!) It’s free too.Written 12 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BluebellplasnewyddCardiff, UK1Â 453 contributionsJust a square but actually a very interesting place to visit even if you have a rip off drink in one of the bars. It seems the centre of life in Taormina with buskers, photographers, weddings and plenty of beautiful people. There were even 2 drones flying around when we visited. The views are tremendous and you could linger here for a long time. You will come across this square if you walk along the main street.Written 9 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BluebellplasnewyddCardiff, UK1Â 453 contributionsA short walk from the main shopping street this is the best way to reach the beach. Return cost very reasonable and a fun experience. Good views from the cable car. Strangely all the cars arrive together so it may appear nothin is happening whilst you wait. Very well organised by staff.Written 10 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rick M10 contributionsWalked up the hill from Corso Umberto and enjoyed the view at every turn. The church has a rich history and is unique - built into the rocky hillsideWritten 14 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David PLondon, UK179 contributionsA very relaxing pizza restaurant at the eastern edge of Taomina's main street, just outside the city wall, so easy to access by taxi or cable car if you need to travel. Outside tables are set on an old terrace off the street, and even the main building has a retractable roof so it should always be cool. Pizzas any way you want and very well made, but urge you to have the ham and melon to start, at this time of year its delicious and easy to want more. Wine by the carafe if you want volume, but plenty of inexpensive local options by the bottle, or glass.ÂWritten 7 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Florian254Norddeutschland1Â 387 contributionsNothing really to write home about compared to a lot of other moms in the world and on Italy, quite bland inside actually but f you are there anyway it does not hurt to have a view.Written 4 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BluebellplasnewyddCardiff, UK1Â 453 contributionsAn incredibly impressive staircase leads up to a classically Italianate interior which to some will be over decorated. Inside and out is very photogenic and the balcony overlooks the square. A must see if you are travelling through the square.Written 9 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rod BBarwon Heads, Australia201 contributionsSome important points:
- not all trains 'go the distance' make sure you're on one that goes all the way to Riposto - some stop at Randazzo or Adrano. Follow-on trains can be some time
- Sometimes there are track works that prevent trains from 'going the distance'
- if it's overcast, you probably won't see much of Etna
With these qualifications, it was a fun experience and is only a few Euros.Written 25 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is a car service that drops you off and picks you up - total cost 9euro. The cafe is pretty basic but what you'd expect at a beach cafe. Tip - don't buy the cocktails - they taste like rocket fuel.Written 10 September 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ianx17489Inverurie, UK827 contributionsWonderful little church with some unusual pillars inside. It is small but oozes character and history. It only takes a few minutes to look around it and certainly worth visiting.Written 8 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alison WDorchester, UK83 contributionsA pretty cove but not as beautiful as Bella Isola a little further round the bay. Both have expensive sunbed hire but Mazzora isn't as picturesque and is not as clean. I wouldn't return.Written 31 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Elena CiocanTimisoara, Romania1Â 725 contributionsThere are 2 gates at each end of Corso Umberto: the Porta Messina and Porta Catania. They used to guard the city.Written 15 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
