We had such a fun tour with our Guide who spoke English very well and then switched to French for a young French couple. So many fun facts about the Opera House that were both interesting and fun to know. Highly recommend !

The performance was really fun, and very visually interesting. It's good to see this sort of traditional artform being practiced

Beautiful structure even when only viewed from the outside. Adjacent to a nice piazza. Come here and take some photos. Rent one of the electric scooters and it's an easy way to get from piazza to piazza

A once in a lifetime opportunity, unless you've been to the opera before, which I hadn't, in which case it's probably a pretty average evening out.

If you can squeeze this into your itinerary do it! Prices are reasonable, but check the schedule for days and time. What a wonderful experience. First we had the explanation of the history, the making of the puppets, and information on the production. We were lucky enough to get to see a full play.
There were 2 kids in front of us. It was also fun watching how much they enjoyed the show. Please note explanations before the play were in Italian- we had someone translating for us. They also gave us a preamble about the play in English
(like reading an opera story before the opera). This is a historical cultural item that we hope continues on in Sicily. We loved it all.

Even if it is rather small, the theater is very elegant! It was inspired by the theatre from Napoli and Venezia.

All the elements of opera, so loved by the citizens of Catania, can be experienced through a colorful puppet presentation (Arranged by your hotel concierge). Some of the puppet movements are more naturalistic than others and you can't tell if it is because of the puppet's structure or the ability of one of the dozen handlers. It's fun to figure out. As in all operas, there is the grand spectacular ending, as exciting and as much fun for the adults as the children in the audience.

I attended a scientific meeting at this beautiful old theatre. I am not sure if it is possible to enter if there is no performance but it is worth seeing. Very well maintained and great acoustics.

We always check out what's on offer at the Teatro when we arrive in Modica. Opera, dance, theatre, etc.. We recently saw a great production of Pink Floyd's The Wall. Excellent! I recommend booking a box seat.

After we checked in at our B&B a short walk away we were told by the owner we could check out this theater. For a nominal entry fee we were shown the place by some what bewildered man. He seemed surprised by our presence and interest in the place. He actually asked if we wanted to hear about the theater or just look and take pictures! He really didn't speak English, though did read out a prepared description in Italian my fellow travelers could understand. This theater is charming, representing a day gone by. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to see the place, but I thoroughly enjoyed both the visit and our astounded host. If your B&B is near, you should come.

Fantastic value and really good fun. Early dinner and this just finished off a lovely evening. You don’t have to be an opera buff to enjoy this. Three artists are excellent don’t take take themselves too seriously perform music to entertain but with great skill and gusto.
The drink and snacks in the break is a lovely and welcome touch.

We were told on a local tour that the ceiling in this theater was hand painted and should not be missed, alas the theater itself was closed, but the door was unlocked and although there was a language barrier, we asked if we could view the inside.

After a few moments, he nodded, walked to the side, flipped on some lights and guided us in so we could look around.

It was very kind of them to allow us to see the inside when they clearly weren't open.
