What travellers are saying
- Cathy HOrlando, FL1 433 contributionsWe went to this town as part of a tour of the area, and absolutely loved it! The views as you come into town are spectacular and the waterfront is breathtaking. What I loved best is that the people of the town were warm and welcoming to visitors.Written 24 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Briana Khalaf3 contributionsGreat quick trip to see a good view of the water and city. There is a quaint cafe that has great coffee and decent pastries. The walk up is a gentle slope but with the humidity (still in Sept) we were warm by the top! Dress light, but totally worth it!Written 12 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- PaulBMaastricht, The Netherlands3 127 contributionsThe current Roman Catholic Basilica of Santa Marghereta dates from the second half of the 17th century and was built on the site of an earlier 13th century church.
The architectural style is Baroque, the church was built according to the Latin cross plan with a central dome.
The interior is richly decorated and contains many beautiful frescoes.

We visited several times during our stay in SML and bought some excellent bottles of wine, pasta, olive oil and other items. It’s family owned and the family takes great pride in what they sell. They are very friendly and enjoy answering questions and offering suggestions. I would absolutely recommend stopping in here when in SML.Written 9 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Trish M10 contributionsI was staying in Portofino and wanted to go to this beach. Take the bus for 3 Euros. Local taxi wanted 40 euros to drive 7 mins up the road. I was going to walk but so hot. The bay itself is gorgeous and clean as is the beach. Be prepared, however, bc beach chairs range from 170-240 euros. Get there early to reserve your chairs . Local restaurants deriving good/drinks all around the bay. Cute shops in the middle ( one sold floats!)Written 23 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- 1Yvonne1Auckland Central, New Zealand33 contributionsA church made by fishermen, some wonderful maritime artefacts and art work left by sailors as ex-votos because their lives have been spared by God during storm or other. At the entrance are typical local black-and-white pebble mosaic of maritime themesWritten 1 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - catalina mGuarene, Italy18 contributionsExtremely beautiful place in excellent condition. You could feel that the place was really well taken care of as a home is. Everything we looked at was of good taste and a pleasure for the eyes and the heart. The choice of the restoration type, the choice of saving the bougainvillea, the care for the garden made the visit a real pleasure. Beautiful views and a real nice guide! We were lucky to get to be in santa margherita in the days it was open, as it is open only on the first and third sunday of the month.Written 19 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
