We paid for tickets via their website which was just entry but they have pillars with headphones you can use inside if you want.

We had walked past and our guide had told us about it so we didn’t get a tour. We just went to get a feel for inside and paid entry only.

The Villa Borghese was splendid ! Me and my friends went there a few times during our holidays, to relax, read a book on a bench drained by the sun and we even used the miniboats on the lake which was a really fun and relaxed activity.
However, among all of those great things, we unfortunalety havn't been able to visit the Gallery Borghese ! There was too many people and we should have booked the visit weeks ago. So, if you want an advice : don't hesiate to book your tickets in advance !

Want to gaze at an amazing old palace with multiple art masterpieces without one tenth of the crowds of the Borghese? This is the place. Bought tickets at the door. Not crowded at all. Audio guide included. Could view any work of art at leisure. Velasquez, Caravaggio, Rubens, Bernini and more... Plenty of benches to sit, rest and observe. Marvelous ceilings, rooms.. Just a top notch experience.

Really enjoyed this interesting museum and liked the unique way of displaying the villa with the glass floors and lights to highlight different sections plus computers projections, made it a really different and informative experience. Only shame is the size of the group meant we couldn't always see everything and parents often let their children stand over the lit up area that was being talked about so noone else could then see it, or as there were so many people you could sometimes get stuck at the back/in hallway and not see it all. Also we didn't have anything about Trajan's column, which others mentioned in their reviews and I was looking forward to learning about, so not sure if they've eliminated this part of the tour. But otherwise an enjoyable experience we'd recommend.

Just a note of caution, there is an adjoining café which looks like it's linked to the museum - it has the same signage across the whole area and a glass dividing wall/window near the entrance. We spotted the toilets there so popped in to use while we were waiting for the tour to start but before we could do so got shouted at by a very aggressive waitress that THIS IS A RESTAURANT!!!! We apologised and showed her we had tickets for the museum part and she just screamed NO DOMUS TOILET and pointed us to the door. I'm guessing they have many people make the same mistake as us and have got fed up! We did find another toilet in a courtyard as you start the tour but have no idea if this is part of the museum either but others used without issue so we did too!

Palazzo Barberini Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica displays art from a wide array of famous painters--Caravaggio, Raphael, Reni... Here, you can actually enjoy the art without the crowds. The architecture of the place is breath-taking. Look for the staircase and the ceilings!

What an awesome church! The dome was spectacular, as well as the high altar filled with frescos of saint Andrew.

I attended Il Tempietto here on the 15th of August. The musicians were very good and made it a very special birthday for me. There was a short tour outside the theatre to explain its origins.Worth visiting and at night , it is just magical.

Termini is a major rail station connecting Rome to other major cities around the country with numerous arrivals and departures providing extensive travel options for those seeking rail travel to/from the city. The station is connected to the city centre by local buses, Metro (A & B Line) and taxis. Or just walk to your hotel if staying in the Termini area. There are cheap bus options to the airport to/from Termini as well.

You can purchase rail tickets online, through mobile app, at self-use ticketing machines or manned ticket counter within the station. Train platforms are located past glassed in barrier. Scan or show tickets and you can enter to await trains directly on respective platforms. You'll find a few cafes, food outlets and retail shops. We waited outbound rail journey recently at the recently opened Eataly upstairs place.

The Renaissance church of the Santissima Trinità dei Monti, in Piazza della Trinità dei Monti, is located on the top of the staircase of the same name which connects it to Piazza di Spagna . There is a stunning view from the balcony overlooking the square below. The exterior of the church with its white facade and two symmetrical bell towers are to be admired from below where you will also see the Sallustian obelisk in front. Inside the single nave church you will the high altar and chapels which are adorned with works of art including frescoes, sculptures and paintings.

Signed up for tour in English and our guide provided great historical context for this renaissance villa. The gardens and main building facade that is hidden from public view is amazing with the inlaid panels from earlier times. Sitting atop Pinchon Hill the vista of old Rome spreads out before your eyes. Well worth the time and admission fee. For photos of the city a morning visit is recommended.

After having watched a cover on TV about Villa Torlonia and especially concerning the time when il Duce&family lived there, we decided to visit Villa Torlonia. (Underground bunker wasn't open to public with "normal" entrance tickets, maybe only groups with guided tours like for the theatre, can see the bunker).

Visiting Villa Torlonia was a great idea! Already the +/- 30 min. walk from the Diocletian Baths to villa Torlonia was very interesting, calm, well kept residential area with plenty of gorgeous palazzi to admire! Many of them are embassies right now.

Villa Torlonia is in fact a huge complex!
Buy a combiticket for villa, owls house, casino.

The park can be visited for free (we saw families having lunch/picknick in the shadow of the trees, some joggers were running around ...). The park looked in desperate need of landscaping, a lot of weeds, no water in the small abandoned lake close to the theatre .... not really a "garden like" park, but the dry weather doesn't help to improve the situation.

Visit includes the spectacular main house/villa, a lot to admire inside, on the 2nd floor you can also see art (Roman school).

Casino hosts a temporary "art"!? exhibition, very quick visit ...

Casina delle Civette/Owls house, very special. A lot of multicoloured windows to have a look at. For my personal taste however limit "kitsch".

We enjoyed our over 2 hours visit to Villa Torlonia very much as it was a special place to spend quality vacation time away from the stressful actual Roman mass tourism 🌞

To return to Roma Termini we took the bus 82 opposite the main entrance on Nomentena.

Recommend a visit of the Villa Torlonia.

But be warned that the limonaia-"restaurant" in the Villa Torlonia park isn't a highlight for a nice pit stop, terrible service, maybe a quick drink at the counter and then bye bye.
