Found this by accident while walking around Sorrento. Found it very interesting. There are “stations” where a video informs about various aspects of Sorrento and the videos we saw were in English. There isn’t a consistent timeline as you go around which is a little odd but not a show stopper. Worth a visit.

An excellent private collection given to the town. The archaeological rooms were closed when I visited but very much enjoyed the mainly 19th paintings of Sorrento and Naples and wished it looked more like that now rather than the present day chaos with the traffic and tourists. Some beautiful views from the villa across the Bay of Naples. You'll spend about an hour here.

When you explore Sorrento you’ll discover more than one exhibit of black and photography depicting the candid lives of Italians and atmospheric scenery by the Sorrento born Raffaele Celentano

Some have a clever red highlight, a classic Fiat 500 for instance. All are inspirational and I was able to take a couple in his style (or I’d like to think so)

    Excellent work and highly recommended

If you’re into inlaid wood and decorative pieces this is definitely a place for you! There are many beautiful examples, big and small, from little boxes to large items of furniture. Many are from the 19th century, often grouped in collections by the same master maker - which makes it fascinating to see the differences in style - but there is also a super modern collection in the basement which I was very pleased to see in that it shows the art form is being kept alive.
There are also paintings and the building itself is of interest, being an old palazzo - one of the ceilings, although in very poor condition, is particularly interesting.

Stopped in to view the art. Was immediately helped and provided information. A certain piece caught my eye. So, went back the next day and purchased it. Shipping and communication was excellent throughout the process!

This is a small shop just packed with amazing works of art. Marcelo is a unique artist and it is certainly worth a visit when in Sorrento.

Found this gem of an art studio wandering the streets of Sorrento and now have 5 pieces displayed in my home.
I love looking at them and remember how much I loved visiting Sorrento

We stumbled upon this cute little museum off the Main Street in Sorrento. The owner was very passionate about sharing his knowledge of his home town. We had a guide show us the attractions and explain certain things along the way.
