This museum was a wealth of information and artifacts that spanned over time and civilizations.

We only spent about two hours inside but one could surely have stayed longer.

The museum did a great job curating its displays and including lots of details. Signage was in both English and Spanish.

One of my favorites was the Lady of Baza more for its uniqueness but the mosaics room was also quite beautiful to see.

This museum should be on everyone's list when visiting Madrid. An amazing collection of fabulous variety and quality and a beautiful building that gives a sense of luxury life in Madrid.

Amazing way to connect with our inner child. Went there with my grumpy teen to have some mother daughter time and we both had a lot of fun 😁

At the time we visited, there was no exhibition and the alternative was to take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful gardens, with some important modern Spanish sculptures. The Museum is only a block away from the centrally located Ortega y Gasset Avenue.

Biblioteca Nacional is located quite close to the center of Madrid. If you are into the history of knowledge and Spain, then you would not regret going to this place. I spent about two hours going through the artifacts and the building.

The Fundacion Manuel Benedito is a new small museum located in the Barrio Salamanca and features the paintings of Manuel Benedito. This painter was born in Valencia in 1875 and died in 1963. He studied art with Joaquin Sorolla. Later he studied in Rome and visited France, Belgium and Holland, where he also had exhibitions of his art. After 1915 he was named as an academic of the Reales Academias de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid. He was also a member of the Hispanic Society.

Benedito was an expert in painting portraits and he made portraits of the high society of Spain. The museum shows many of these excellent portraits.

How thoughtful to create a sculpture garden beneath a street overpass in a space that would otherwise feel barren.

This is a permanent exhibition in the outside, in Castellana Avenue. There are interesting statues of important artists such as Miró and Chillida. It is good to have this exhibition during the Covid-19, free of viruses!
