You can access an aire with parking and a viewing platform for photos off the AP7.
Normally you can go down a path on foot to see from below, but the path was closed for repairs. - Mikael FHelsinki, Finland30 625 contributionsThe Old Town of Tarragona is located in the upper part of the city. It is a labyrinth of narrow streets lined by old buildings. The terraces of charming squares offer resting places during sightseeing.
Tarraco was founded in 218 BC by the Romans. For several centuries it boasted of being the largest province capital of the empire. Later, with the fall of the Roman Empire, it was devastated by the Visigoths, conquered by the Muslims, and re-conquered a few centuries later by the Christians.
So there are many historical periods that have left their footprints here.Written 26 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. However, while it is under refurbishment, a selection of the treasure trove is housed here.
Tinglado 4 was a former passenger terminal in the port until 1986. From thereon it hosted cultural events, and now serves as temporary museum stand in.
Being the oldest Roman outpost on the Iberian peninsula, Tarraco has a fascinating back story from ancient times, plus many artefacts exemplifying this status.
An engaging series of exhibits shows off this great heritage.Written 18 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
