Classic Remise Berlin
#5 of 256 Museums in Berlin
The selection of very well preserved classic vehicles is something many automotive and transport museums would drool about.
It was well laid out and better than most museums I have visited.

... early industrial economies in the late 1800's resulting in great new personal wealth and amazing state and personal art and antiquity collections, which have often ended up in these galleries and museums Berlin.

The world-class neo-classical history and art museums located together on Museum Island, in landscaped gardens alongside the Berlin Cathedral and the river, are definitely worth visiting.

German Historical Museum
#10 of 256 Museums in Berlin
We have enjoyed history museums across Europe and North America and the German History Museum definitely ranks up in the Pantheon of great history museums.
German Historical Museum (GHM) or Deutsches Museum stands among the great names of museums in the world - it is very close being on par with British Museum, which is perhaps the greatest history museum in the world.

Museum Blindenwerkstatt Otto Weidt
#11 of 256 Museums in Berlin
It's a free museum, and right across from amazing street art as well, so it is a spot definitely worth checking out!
Hidden in an ally, a very small museum commemorating Otto Weidt and telling an interesting story of a brave man fighting for his Jewish workers freedom under the Nazi regime.

The German Resistance Memorial Centre
#12 of 256 Museums in Berlin
I stumbled upon this memorial center / museum by accident and it was one of my favorite museums in Berlin.
Very worthwhile as most of the other WWII historical museums in Berlin concentrate on the rise of the NS Party, the ensuing war, and the holocaust.
Kathe Kollwitz Museum
#13 of 256 Museums in Berlin
Found this little museum from the Guardians 10 best Berlin museums.
I adore small museums, and this one delivers.

Deutsches Technikmuseum
#15 of 256 Museums in Berlin
This is one of Berlins famous museums and is definitely worth the visit for engineering and invention buffs to include the curious.
Although they cannot compete with dedicated air museums in terms of scale, for an inside air museum this was fantastic and one of the best I have visited.

Haus der Wannsee-Konferenz

I have now brought 3 different A level history groups to Berlin, and so I am aware of the many fabulous museums on the subject of the Cold War and the GDR.

Neues Museum
#18 of 256 Museums in Berlin
In our opinion, this is one of the best Egyptian displays outside of the Cairo and Luxor museums with a large collection ranging from very early dynasties through to Coptic and late dynasties.
The building itself is outstanding and located on Museum Island which is well worth a visit in its own right with it great museums and the Cathedral.

Berlin Story Bunker
#20 of 256 Museums in Berlin
This has to be one of the best Second World War museums I have visited with clear explanations about the rise of the Nazis and the role of Germany in the Second World War.
The best and most terrifying museums about Hitler, Nazism and World War II
Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church
#21 of 256 Museums in Berlin
The tower's spire remains as it was after the Allied bombing in WWII and the ground floor foyer is a museum of sorts with mosaics and murals harkening back to its 1890 beginnings.
you wont need a huge amount of time here but the journey is worth it for the ornate ceiling in the main space which also contains an informative small museum display of the church history

The newest addition to the museums of Berlin, the new building of the Berlinische Galerie for contemporary art is located a 1956 glass warehouse, refurbished to designs of the architect Jörg Fricke.
This museum presents Berlin artists in historical perspective, an excellent complement to all the history in Berlin (we did this museum the same day as Topography of Terror, a short walk from there).

You have to book in advance at htis private Modern Art museum, but in the low season you might get lucky while in town for a few days.
And because it's a private museum you have to book online in advance and can only view the art as part of a (small) guided tour.
