What travellers are saying
- Diana G2 contributionsGreat place for a half/full day away from main attractions. Great for stroll, bike ride, picnic, watching ducks and watching people surfing. Locals even swim, but it looks quite dangerous since the stream is very strongWritten 6 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WriterJaneNew York81 contributionsI was a little surprised how many animals were out on exhibit in mid-December, but temps were in the low 40s... and most have fur coats. The most shocking and distinctive note was visitors walking dogs around the zoo. Some of the animals were NOT having it, or maybe they were jealous?!?Written 31 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EllieNorthampton, UK1 contributionGreat day out, went on our last day in munich before flying in the evening and was perfect as they had luggage storage for free downstairs in the shop. locked our suitcases up with a refundable €1 all day while we wandered around the beautiful gardens!Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 422ianaDunedin, New Zealand3 610 contributionsLarge buildings with museums in surrounding the gardens. The paths were a little slippery with the cold temperatures.Written 13 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Simona H2 contributionsPros: It was very clean and staff were friendly. The walk is perfect for families and there were a lot of places to have a rest if you were tired. Loved the park at the end!
Cons: the shop is very expensive and it is pretty loud when it is more crowded- choose times to visit early morning or late afternoon, when there are less people.Written 17 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - E.L.EBrno, Czech Republic18 647 contributionsSmall botanical garden in the city. Some spaces ideal for families and young children. - Johnmor22Edinburgh, UK3 contributionsA superb golf course with excellent warm up facilities and including a decent restaurant for afterwards.
Without question, the best greens I’ve ever putted on (and I’ve played Open Championship venues). Just stunning quality. The fairways are generous but testing. Ball placement is absolutely key. Stray off the fairways and on most holes the rough is absolutely penal.
A genuine test of golf and a very enjoyable one too, which includes a small cafe stop that one can choose to take after 9 holes.
Can’t rave enough about the condition of the greens…one 3 putt in 36 holes is not normal for me.
Green fees of €60 as a member’s guest. Excellent value, and fairly easy to reach by Uber (or SBahn & Uber) from central Munich.Written 30 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MytravadvBrisbane, Australia445 contributionsWhat a lovely small park...so green with fresh new leaves on all the trees.
Its right next to the river but not as busy as the English Gardens.
Go under the German Museum and over the second small waterway, then turn left and keep the river on your left. You can return to the city over one of the many bridges whenever you want.
We chose to keep walking up the river till we got close to the Chinese Pagoda in the English Garden across the river.
Great circle walk if you like parks and fresh air. It's probably abt 8-9km as a round trip but on level ground so not difficult.
Some pretty views along the way and a few interesting locks.
Well worth a walk if you have time.
Was very surprised that it rated pretty low on tripadvisor but guess because it's slightly away from the busy centre.Written 2 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
