What travellers are saying
- Bryce SNew Hope, PA1 787 contributionsI think this attraction aligns to the Heidelberg Christmas market we just visited. This is one of our favorite cities for visiting Christmas markets. We took the train from Frankfurt, then a tram to the market. The city has a long, wide pedestrian only street lined with upscale shops and Christmas market attractions. We had our glugwein and sausages and did sone department store shopping. We arrived late morning, so it was not that crowded.Written 2 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MG3Toronto, Canada326 contributionsHad to intention of going in here but just stumbled in due to the sheer volume of books visible from outside. You’ll get lost in it all. Lots of English books and second hand books. Vinyl records also. Can go 2 floors upstairs and 2 downstairs. Literally endless amount of books. Really cool spotWritten 21 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PaulBMaastricht, The Netherlands3 127 contributionsThe Darmstädther Hof is a small shopping center in central Heidelberg and includes several shops, bar-restaurants, car-park etc.
You cannot miss it when walking down the long Haupstrasse (Main Street) towards the main bus or railway station. Although it is still a 15 min. walk from the historic part of Heidelberg.

The Zuckerladen (engl. Sugar Shop) is a unique candy shop which is owned by a lovely couple since so many years. You can buy all sorts of candy, like gummi bears and lollipops. Beside his owner, who will start a game of dice and a small talk with you while you are paying, the candy monsters are another highlight of the shop.
This is definitely a must-see at your tour through Heidelberg.Written 28 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's a shame the guys do not sell the fruity flavours (raspberry, orange) any more, but I happily take what I get :)Written 11 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
