What travellers are saying
- Freda JThurso, UK4 contributionsI spent a full day at pollok Park reacquaining myself with my favourite part of Glasgow after 40 years away. It was a lovely experience and brought back a host of happy memories. The gardens are still well laid out although the flowers are now getting past their best. Pollok House was closed for refurbishment but the grounds around it are still open to wander around. The Parterre Gardens are really nice.
i also spent some hours at the Burrell Collection which also was amazing and has so much more in it that when I last visited.
I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive the gift shop is and managed to secure a few presents to take home.
Sir William Burrell has indeed left a fine legacy for the people of this wonderful City,
The option of a shuttle bus to take you from one part of the Park to another is also a great idea, although I chose not to use it.
Oh, happy memeories. Thank you Glasgow and Pollok Park.Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The customer service is excellent, and the support from the Wedding Co-ordinators was outstanding. Everything from the food to the small details was executed perfectly, so I would recomment the venue to everyone.Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Emma D37 contributionsThis was my first visit it since the spa had been refurbished and it has definitely improved. A few things let it down unfortunately. All the seating is double beds and as a solo visitor this made it difficult to have a place to sit alone. The changing lockers need to have a hanger for your own clothes. The changing area also had Dyson hairdryers, but I couldn’t work out how to use them (neither could the other group of women who were there at the same time as me), so instructions would be helpful.
I also had to try 3 shower cubicles until I found one that had filled toiletry bottles.
The recent changes have really improved the spa, but for the cost there needs to be more attention to detail.Written 22 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Julie, the therapist was superb and made me feel completely relaxed. Afternoon tea was delicious and we were well looked after by Emma and Oliver. We will definitely be returning in the very near future!Written 12 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HappygirlEdinburghGlasgow, UK79 contributionsFound this restaurant/bar in the passing. We had already eaten & we’re looking for a nice bar for drinks. The welcome we got was excellent & the staff so friendly. We didn’t have food but having seen the desserts would definitely go back & have a meal.Written 17 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ken42590Seattle, WA34 contributionsGreat experience. Michael was my guide and it turned out I was the only guest which made the afternoon all the more memorable as well as enjoyable. He was informative, kind, thoughtful and funny. He knew the City and its sights in such a way that he could casually convey his message and yet it was clear he also had a very solid knowledge, too. Happily recommend this outfit to others looking for a low-impact and yet very up close opportunity to learn more about Glasgow.Written 2 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - clintMount Juliet, TN68 contributionsWe do a lot of Food Tours when we travel and wish more Food Tours were like this! We got to try so much great food at local, independent establishments. We also leaned a lot about the city!
We ventured out to the west end of Glasgow and escaped some of the more touristy areas to experience and taste Glasgow like a local! Maddie loves Glasgow and is so proud of the city. She is a tremendous guide, full of knowledge about the city and the influences on the food in the city. She makes the experience very conversational and casual where you can ask questions and actually get to talk to a few owners of the shops and restaurants!
Come hungry, because the food is amazing and you will want to eat every bite!Written 31 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
