the area outside is even very nice , you can take a break in the cafe or outside coffee cart , very friendly peopleWritten 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Trains, trams, old subway cars, recreations of old shops, a lovely cobbled street from the 20's (?) where you can wander into the different shops of days gone by, interactive and informative displays where you can glean information from historic news reels, great replicas of historic and more modern ships, medals and artifacts from previous wars and much more. Free to enter. Would be excellent but had to navigate the adjacent 'skate park' on exit. Youths drinking alcohol and a strong smell of cannabis.Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hockeydad900La Canada Flintridge, CA378 contributionsNear Glasgow cathedral. Well worth a visit. Grandiose tombs and monuments to the business elite of Glasgow along with the religious leaders. - Traveller162014Leeds, UK1 680 contributionsReally enjoyed our visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens. We explored for an hour or so, taking in the beauty of the grounds, sniffing the herbs and feeling the different textures of plants from all over the world. Well worth a visit.Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TheShisTel Aviv, Israel42 755 contributionsThe university of Glasgow is a beautiful place to visit, as it is architecturally stunning.

- Jet189826222452 contributionsVisited specifically to see the finishing Degas exhibition, but I will be back soon to see the permanent galleries as well. The galleries are in a beautiful space, in the middle of a country park visible from many places within the building. One major disappointment (hence one star removed) was the use of language in the Degas exhibition - the curators made sure to condemn racism and antisemitism at every opportunity, yet they were happy to refer to (possible) s*x workers as prostitutes throughout. Please do your homework if you want future exhibitions to be truly reflective of 21st century values.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Freda JThurso, UK4 contributionsI spent a full day at pollok Park reacquaining myself with my favourite part of Glasgow after 40 years away. It was a lovely experience and brought back a host of happy memories. The gardens are still well laid out although the flowers are now getting past their best. Pollok House was closed for refurbishment but the grounds around it are still open to wander around. The Parterre Gardens are really nice.
i also spent some hours at the Burrell Collection which also was amazing and has so much more in it that when I last visited.
I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive the gift shop is and managed to secure a few presents to take home.
Sir William Burrell has indeed left a fine legacy for the people of this wonderful City,
The option of a shuttle bus to take you from one part of the Park to another is also a great idea, although I chose not to use it.
Oh, happy memeories. Thank you Glasgow and Pollok Park.Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We found the historic little streets although there were only a couple. We then went and sat in a lovely park away from it all with view over looking the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum and the University.Written 9 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cammy SHamilton, UK192 contributionsWe had a brilliant day out seeing this stunning building. Plenty to wander around inside and great for history. Shame that it is closing its doors for four years due to refurbishment. Definitely would highly recommend it well worth another visit when it opens up again.Written 28 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BLSilver82Ottawa, Canada195 contributionsLiam did an excellent job of showing us around the City Chambers as well as explaining the architecture and history of the building.
It is well worth a visit but arrive early as it has limited space (25) and only goes at 10:00 and 2:30.
It is also free.
A great look into Glasgow's rich history as well as a very beautiful building.

- donna aSan Antonio, TX70 contributionsA beautiful station. Clear signage to get around. Shops to pickup up sandwiches, snacks, drinks and coffee. Helpful staff. Use paper for access gate or mobile pass on your phone. We used the train from Edinburgh to get to central Glasgow. Station is downtown.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JakeCoxCardiff, UK107 contributionsThis isn't the easiest museum to find. A little bit of police work may be required to locate it (sorry, terrible pun that) but if a berk like me can find it you should have no problem. Pop it into a search engine and follow the maps!
This is an a very large collection of uniforms, badges, equipment and history of the police force both within Glasgow and beyond.
Although only a relatively small museum space there is a lot squeezed in! Allow yourself a good hour, especially if you're one of those intelligent people who like to read everything.
This is well worth a visit. The exhibitions are wonderfully set out and the staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable.Written 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
