What travellers are saying
- Verity HDundee, UK37 contributionsWe visited the Hydro for the Liam Gallagher gig last month. The venue is a great size and easy to traverse, security is quick and we were ushered out afterwards very efficiently.
What lets the venue down is the food court. We decided to get something to eat there but that was a mistake. Previously we've purchased food from the chippy counter and it has been hot and filling. This time around they had a limited Korean street food option there, which is not suitable for everyone. So we decided to try the pizza. Obviously they need to crank them out pretty fast due to the amount of people in the venue, however the options were margherita, mushroom and bbq chicken. Again, not suitable for everyone. So we paid £9 each for a small margherita pizza that was the driest, blandest tasting pizza we have ever had.
The following week we were back for the Killers and had learned our lesson. We arrived in Glasgow earlier and walked round to Golf Fang for a game and some decent food.
Also, we understand that juice needs to go in paper cups but for the love of god invest in some ice machines!Written 12 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HerlapingLeatherhead, UK268 contributionsWent to see George Thorogood and the Destroyer.....There is a multi-story car park for the SEC, watch for the sign painted on the road. Why is the car park in front of the building barricaded off, be easier to park there? It is an interesting building, like a small metal version of the Sydney Opera House. Inside it is quite soulless in an almost futuristic way. 2 bars, (one was closed). Seating, sound and view was good. Able to get out of the auditorum and car park easilyWritten 16 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BocGlasgow, UK12 contributionsWonderful venue. Saw band Kuna Shaker there and a great local band, whose name escapes me. First time venue for me and it was quite central. Clean, spacious, a few different bars scattered throughout the building and great staff throughout. Could do with a few chairs around the balcony area for us older patrons, but apart from that, great for crowds up to 1000.Written 7 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gayle mCambuslang, UK17 contributionsThis was an unexpected night out, never been before, but I Will Definitely Be back!! Even signed up to the newsletter on their website. Great mix of Act's during the sho. As I said, I didn't know what to expect, but I laughed the whole night. . Also great that there is a raffle as well, and the profit goes to wards local Food Banks. Would highly recommend.Written 3 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 577Scotty21Glasgow, UK11 contributionsMy wife and I attended the Ryan Davidson one man show of ‘The Wonder Room’ on 20th September. We were entertained from start to finish with personal stories, great humour and an outstanding close up performance of card tricks and magic. The people that attended the intimate show were all thoroughly entertained and we would highly recommend this for an evening of entertainment!Written 24 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JuniorJ03Edinburgh, UK224 contributionsMy mates and I had a couple of pints here lay week prior to heading to a gig (at a different venue). The service was OK and the choice of beer decent. The decor is dated and tired and the overall feeling is the place needs a bit of work. In saying that, if I was in the area again, I'd probably pop in for a beer.Written 16 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DoctorZaiusLong Beach, CA15 contributionsGet ready to see the world through masks and puppets. Another reviewer used the term enchanted, I agree. Enchanting is the best way to describe the experience. We got to hear stories from Malcolm and Sarah about the puppets and masks on display and the art of puppetry. Wonderful. We left feeling like we took a trip through time and space.Written 15 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
