What travellers are saying
- lisamX1155UWGlasgow2 contributionsFab food & service from the lunch menu. Kieran served us & he was fantastic - so friendly and helpful. Shame it’s so quiet & lacked atmosphere.Written 5 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jason SFalkirk, UK3 contributionsWasn't too sure what to expect, but was a fun night out.
Quite hard to win the big duck, a fair amount of luck involved, but the wee ducks are decently within grasp.
Staff all friendly and good banter, drinks good, no complaints!Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A gorgeous pint of the inevitable local with a highly servicable vegetarian sausage roll set me up for about 45 minutes of well performed, well lit, well written stage play. A great way to spend a lunch.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Leona G1 contributionThis place has the BEST staff. Amazing peerie pub. We will be back!!! Glasgow’s oldest pub had the best live music while we were there. Beautiful beer mats, toilets and supplies us with delicious cider.Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jack C6 contributionsI previously wrote a bad review of this place out of a bit of anger which I believed unfair so I wanted apologise delete my original review and make a new one, Polos a great club, and while the bouncers are lovely i’m almost never let in hence the 4 stars, maybe I don’t look gay enough? I’m not too sure it’s just a shame I wish i could rely on it being my regular spot. Anyway great venue and great night out 👍Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mark SGlasgow, UK12 contributionsHi just to leave a a few nice words for Carrie who was extremely helpful and so kind on our visit. - charlwoodstevenHamilton, UK30 contributionsWent to see podcaster Katie Charlwood (ok yes she is my daughter) present an entertaining talk on Flora MacDonald. A room downstairs , an intimate setting which was comfortable and the service pre and mid show were served with a smile. Comfortable seating and good little atmosphere. A jazz session was going on upstairs and though jazz is not my thing it really is a trendy place to visit, all in all a pleasant venue and experience.Written 22 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ed Tanguy5 contributionsSurprisingly small for the number of huge bands that have played there (assumingly very early in their career) but a nice place, really nice food and drink, lovely staff.. toilets weren't a highlight but perfectly acceptable for a public bathroom hahaWritten 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HappygirlEdinburghGlasgow, UK79 contributionsFound this restaurant/bar in the passing. We had already eaten & we’re looking for a nice bar for drinks. The welcome we got was excellent & the staff so friendly. We didn’t have food but having seen the desserts would definitely go back & have a meal.Written 17 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bill G20 contributionsIf you are in Glasgow and looking for real ale and great food this is the place to go. Situated a stone’s throw from the busy M8, and yet completely hidden from it, you might try to book a table for food since this place is jammers !!
Boasting a choice of Scottish and English ales, I could have definitely tried 5 or 6 which were new to me.
The food was excellent (started with batter-encrusted haggis, and followed up with a massive piece of beer-battered haddock with real peas (not the awful mushy ones which now seem to be the norm). I don’t know if they were short-staffed that night but the lady serving the locals looked like the road runner, zipping from bar to table, and to her credit, nobody appeared to have been left waiting !!
This is real gem of a local well worth searching out in Glasgow’s West End. Ideal if visiting the King’s Theatre, and a 10-15 minute walk from where the 500 airport bus drops off.Written 3 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
