No crowds, no tour busses, Christmas lights and decorations everywhere.
John picked us up at our hotel in an iconic British taxi which was very comfortable with loads of space and big windows to see out. It's a good 2hrs to get out of London (and back) but we were a bit jet-lagged so we used it as an opportunity for a nap.
John, our tour guide, was incredibly kind, knowledgable and accommodating. He took us to lots of places off the beaten path and exceeded our expectations for the day. He answered all our questions and took us through the palace and around the property at a relaxing pace. He was an excellent host. The challenge of collecting points as you walk and explore really is such a great idea. We put the kids in charge of the app and directions, and became the ultimate exploring team! - Carlos L1 contributionThere was no guide, just a driver, and after visiting the first attraction in the " tour" and spending there one hour less than we were supposed to spend, we were told that we didn't have enough time to finish our tour, that it was either returning to London, or paying £50/hour in cash, for as long as it took us to visit the other two attractions in the program and return to London. This was not a cheap "tour". It had already cost us around twice the price of the pre-made tours, but we wanted to see everything in one day, and we thought this tour would allow us to do ir. Tripadvisor should do something about this. As you can see in the photos below it says stop at Blenheim palace 3 hours.
