National Gallery
#1 of 402 Museums in London
It is every bit as good as the other great museums I have seen- Louvre, Met, Hermitage, Uffizi etc. Wonderful collection of renaissance art as well as excellent impressionist collection.
A great collection of art, worth a visit every time you are in London but if you want to enjoy a great evening, check the cultural activities on every Friday, when several museums and galleries in London are open...

It is very small compared to some other museums, there are wonderful masterpieces done by artists of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries by Van Gogh, Gaugin, Seurat, Degas, Cezanne, Mogdigliani, Manet, Gainsborough...
If you enjoy impressionist art them this is a must go can see the beautiful paintings without the huge crowds at the bigger museums

There is a treasure trove of artworks on loan from various Sussex museums including Bloomsbury group works by Duncan Grant, once the love of J.M.Keynes life, and Vanessa Bell with her arresting self portrait.
... well decorated with different characters of history & romance. Two Temple Place holds exhibitions periodically to promote collections of smaller art galleries & museums. We went there as a part of Open House tour.

Picaso's exhibition presenting some 60 portraits he created along his rich and long career, provides the viewer with a unique opportunity to see many works which are in private collections and far away museums.
I still think it's fantastic that there are so many free museums and galleries in this country, though of course you'll want to make a donation if you are able.
