What travellers are saying
- Master JonjonLondon, UK344 contributionsONE-SENTENCE SUMMARY. A solo exhibition linking the hardship of both territories.
Exhibits occupy both the ground floor galleries and the basement.
G/F: Sketches and diaries based on interviews in Palestine.
Basement: Craft works surrounded by cold political statements, the Indian Constitution and Kashmir’s independence declarations.
LOCATION. Nearest station: Earl’s Court. As you exit the station, go across the street then all the way north, north, north. The Mosaic Road is right across Cromwell Road.
FEES. Free entry for all.
BEFORE YOU VISIT. The website is pretty ambiguous on its holiday opening hours. To avoid disappointment, enquire before your journey.Written 4 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s relatively small.Written 3 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- futtock21London, UK11 307 contributionsIt’s a sign of ageing if not old age itself that one fails to recognise the majority of shops or restaurants in an area one spent a lot of time in ten years ago. That is certainly true of South Kensington where even the road layout has changed having created a pedestrian area directly in front of The station in Thurlow Place. It was therefore re-assuring to find the bookshop not only still in situ but with even the same layout as I’ve always remembered it with recently published fiction directly to the right of the door; art books on shelves to the left; poetry in a room at the back shared with music and cookery books to the rear. In each room tables are piled high with discounted hardbacks.Written 20 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - laf860St. Albans, UK7 contributionsNew shop now does delicious coffee - tried Americano and cappuccino so far & drink comes with square of different flavours of chocolate which sets me up for the day. Lovely people too. My new regular go-to place for coffee.Written 14 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ian CLondon, UK23 970 contributionsThe annual design fair 100% Design at Olympia has grown in size since it started a few years ago, but in doing so has lost the focus and edge. Perhaps there are now too many of these shows and many of the innovations of past years have become commonplace, especially in the world of office design.
The Chinese are still starring, with their combination of tradition and contemporary design and this year there is also a stand showing work by Slovenian designers.
There are interesting centrepieces such as 'Elements' by Max Fraser which, focuses on the detail of new and old designs, and new talent which is diverse, including digital clocks made out of old valve radios and the like. I want one! Plus wooden bicycles, some links with street art, a cool wine cooler from a car body, then a gin trolley. Yipee!
Lastly, technology is there - apparently more and more clients (of a younger generation) are asking for virtual reality experiences of projects before they commitWritten 20 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Is very interesting as give you an insight of what is up these days... Of course brown furniture is disappearing fast and a mixture of eclectic tastes is coming up... But is a free window shopping inside today taste and culture!Written 16 December 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Apparently as long ago as 2003.
Still good on Alsace and South of France but specialities seem to be Bordeaux which was pretty spectacular and Italy.
Very friendly staff and the only time I have had my wines recommended to me by a Master of Wine - pretty impressive!Written 4 May 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary401 contributionEverything is about reputation and how good your customer service is. I placed a few orders at office and they went well. Unfortunately, in the latest one I had to return an item and they do not deal as well with that. I showed the receipt of the courier company to confirm they received the item almost a month ago, they told me they did not receive it and therefore, I could go through arbitration to recover my money (which I did). The worst of all of this is that I am telling everyone how bad they are and they lost a customer. My advice is NEVER AGAIN.Written 28 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
