Many who find controversy today over the civil war should visit this historic site and see that both Union and southern soldiers died side by side during the battle at Petersburg.

I am a huge National Park and Historic Site "nerd" so the plan to stop was based on this being a National Historic Site with little knowledge of who Mrs. Walker was.
