We opted out of the lunch at the Cape Point and our driver, Sebastian picked a great lunch spot on the water in Simon Town (Bertha's). The itinerary was well planned enabling us options along the way, and included minor adjustments in the order to help us get more out of the experience (e.g. miss the crowds). After 3 people dropped out we had a small group attend which made for a very personal tour on the day. Our guide T was really friendly and informative, making sure that all our queries were answered (including great food and drink tips!) and that we had a really enjoyable experience. Bobby was great also in driving us to each stop on the tour. Particular highlights were the boat trip to seal island, the penguins on Boulder Beach and walk at Cape Point. - Parveen_H20London, UK13 contributionsWe had an amazing time on our safari and all the stops in between. Mawande was our guide and he made the trip amazing. We had great conversation with him, learnt a lot of South African history and he took us to the best spots for us to make the most of the experience. We visited bettys bay and were the only ones there so we got to see the penguins and it was so peaceful. The safari at garden route lodge and our guide - ricghter (sorry about the spelling) was incredible we got to see all the animals up close and had an amazing experience seeing the hippos playing. The day of, we walked in and immediately felt welcomed with a friendly crew. Very knowledgeable and excited to share what they knew. We went in August so during winter. We are told there are fewer sharks so we lowered our expectations. We went out with a group of 8-10. We had luck with sharks and stood in the cage to see a few. I was 12" from a sevengill shark. Crew was professional. The captain, she did a great job. We also visited Seal Island and saw whale's on our way back. Out of 3 shark boats we were the only boat that had them. Thanks to Capt Nina, Ernest and Jason. Best excursion in Capetown. Leon was a great tour guide, he was very informative and super helpful when I’ve asked him for other recommendations. Our whole journey he has shown and talked about history/ facts related to places we have been and seen on our way. The tour itself was great experience and I would definitely recommend it for people who like to explore! I initially booked the boutique wine tour, but it was cancelled due to low numbers. This tour ended up being a great alternative.
The guide made sure all of the solo travellers were seated at the same tasting tables which made it easy to meet and socialise with like minded people.

They were on time & truly love what they do. Candy has great energy and is extremely knowledgeable ! Though a group, it was so personable. From start to finish it was a good time. We made all our locations… not to mention luck would have it that we had 4 whale sighting during our trip and encountered many other wild life!
The tour definitely covers all the majors sites & the most scenic adventure you’ll have! - MRMRSPIPNew Jersey54 contributionsWe were extremely fortunate to have great winter weather and sightings the day we went - a breaching humpback whale, a couple brydes whales and multiple southern right whales including a mama & baby. Saw dolphins, seals and penguins as well. Onboard staff was great at sharing information, allowing for photography by all and taking care of the couple of folks who suffered a bit of seasickness. The boat is very accommodating and the provided ponchos were welcome when the boat was moving and/or you weren’t in the sun. While we did see sharks, I was a little disappointed that they were seen only in the context of being baited for a nearby shark cage boat. I expected a little more given Marine Dynamics conservation mission and the proclamation on the website that we would be visiting the “Shark Alley famous for great white shark sightings”. On board biologists confirmed there actually haven’t been great white shark sightings in nearly a decade there so that felt a little misleading. Additionally it would be helpful if the website were clearer on how long this tour takes. From being picked up around 6am from your Cape Town hotel, to the safety briefing and coffee, to the time on the water itself plus the lunch after, mandatory visit to the penguin sanctuary and the return to Cape Town, this is an 11 hour day - we got back at 5p. So don’t make the mistake of planning something afterwards like we did. I will say though that the driver was exceptionally accommodating in dropping people off at their desired locations, even if it wasn’t where they were picked up. He arranged the entire tour so we could make it before it closed. The Bo-keep neighborhood was so interesting. Regan was also able to get us in to the penguins when they were turning away visitors.
