We booked a tour with our cruise ship last week, covering Peggy’s Cove in the morning and the Hop On Hop Off in the afternoon. The morning was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable, but when we returned to the cruise terminal to pick up part two - the bus - we were very surprised to see a really long queue waiting. We thought maybe our tour was in a different section.
It took half an hour before we got on - there was a mixture of red/ pink vehicles and our blue bus. The ride was awful, the fumes were pretty bad throughout and the engine was so noisy we couldn’t hear the commentary. This bus wasn’t fit for purpose. Our good humoured driver tried her best, but basically it was impossible to drive normally and half way through the tour we passed one of the red buses which had broken down. We couldn’t wait to get off.
Initially I gave the review two stars but changed it to three because the next bus waiting for us outside the Titanic cemetery was almost empty, we could hear the guide ( though it wasn’t far back to the terminal) and the bus was in slightly better physical condition. We wouldn’t use them again.
