- amanda5805Duncan, Canada5 039 contributionsDriving through the Glencoe National Nature Preserve in Scotland was an awe-inspiring experience that left us utterly captivated by the raw beauty of the Scottish Highlands. As we wound our way through the rugged landscape, we were treated to breathtaking vistas at every turn.
The scenery along the route was nothing short of spectacular, with towering peaks, cascading waterfalls, and dramatic valleys stretching out before us. The Glencoe Valley itself, with its imposing mountains and craggy ridges, evoked a sense of grandeur and majesty that was truly humbling to behold.
One of the highlights of our drive was the abundance of stopping points along the way, each offering panoramic views that seemed straight out of a postcard. From tranquil lochs reflecting the surrounding mountains to expansive vistas of rolling moorland, there was no shortage of stunning photo opportunities.
We found ourselves pulling over time and time again to soak in the scenery and capture the beauty of Glencoe on camera. Well until we ran out of day light.
This was a highlight we still talk about from our Uk & Ireland TripWritten 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I took a picnic and enjoyed the views - wish I had taken my swimming costume to be honest (but obviously be careful if you’re not used to cold water swimming). Combine with a coffee at the Kingshouse Hotel (walkers bar) or the chairlift at GlenCoe ski resort and you’ve got a great full day in the Glen Coe area.Written 16 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cruiser640520Minneapolis, MN18 contributionsMy sister and I hiked this out and back in 2 hours, minus the time we spend hanging out in the hidden valley. The trail is mostly all rocks and boulders so you must wear proper hiking shoes. There are definitely steep climbs up rocks and a few times you have to scramble, but I think if you are young and active you can do this hike. We went on a sunny evening after dinner and had no problems with midges or slippery terrain. From either car parks, walk down the hill and start toward the first of the two sisters. The trails goes in between the first two sister, as you're looking at the hills from the car park, left to right. Follow the trail and right away you will come across tall metal steps. That's the way! Enjoy!Written 23 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NCtravelzRaleigh, NC1 163 contributionsWe took the easy stroll around the water. Lovely views. It really felt like the pacific northwest. Very well marked and all flat. Plenty of parking. Handicapped accessible.Written 11 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- therealmcgaughey32 contributionsTIP: If you go in shoulder season, do yourself a favor and wear layers that include a short-sleeve or sleeveless one! I thought that since I'd be getting up in elevation, and I'm skinny and perpetually cold, I'd need long sleeves, plus a windproof jacket. WRONG.
In May, I wore a long-sleeve wool base layer, windproof outerwear, and tall boots. But I took off my jacket in the first 15 minutes, and sweated clear through my top in the first 30! Also the tall boots were unnecessary because it wasn't nearly as muddy as I anticipated, so they just made me more sweaty.
Do check the weather before you go, and be prepared to be flexible. I turned around about 3/4 of the way through, because it was becoming so cloudy that the views were obscured. Wish I had given myself an extra day in Glencoe so that I could have seen the views from the top!
However, even the views from the bridge/valley were enough to make me choke back tears. Maybe it was the volunteer bagpiper near the parking lot echoing across the whole valley while the skies cleared? Maybe it was the spirit of my ancestors being glad that someone went back home after 400 years? I hope you have as transcendent an experience as I did.Written 24 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The That is further down the glen below the mouth of Coire Gabhail where the Alt Coire Gabhail and Allt Doire-beith join the River Coe. It is clearly marked on UK OS maps at grid reference NN17404 56361.
What your showing here is it's the Glencoe waterfall.

Whether you're looking to make your way to the top or the bottom while enjoying a leisurely walk or just opting for a scenic round trip, this stairlift is an ingenious way to do it all.
A particularly brilliant feature is the opportunity to appreciate Glencoe's stunning landscapes without the need for strenuous hiking. The journey itself is captivating, providing an exceptional perspective on the surroundings. Remember to bring a coat, as it can get quite cold as you ascend to higher altitudes. Thank you to Benny who helped us with our 4 year old son access the moving lift.
While the price of £15 per adult for approximately a 30-minute round trip might seem steep, it's important to note the costs involved in maintaining such a lift in this rugged terrain. Understanding this, the fee becomes justifiable considering the unique experience it delivers.
My adventure concluded perfectly with a visit to the on-site cafe, where we enjoyed tea and cake. The prices were reasonable, providing a satisfying end to a truly memorable day. If you're seeking an innovative way to explore Glencoe's beauty, the Glencoe Mountain stairlift is a must-try experience that combines convenience, scenery, and a touch of adventure.Written 28 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
