The greatest of Jamaican great houses, the Rose Hall Great House has a story with all the elements of an engaging novel. Built in 1770 by John Palmer and his wife, it eventually became the residence of their grandnephew, John Rose Palmer. In 1820, Palmer married Annee, a beautiful but feisty English girl. Little did John know that his young wife possessed “black magic” powers that would eventually lead to his demise. During her reign as mistress of the plantation, Annee did away with two more husbands and countless lovers. “The White Witch of Rose Hall” has fascinated generations, and even today, there are those who claim to see Annee passing through the Great House. A candle-lit evening tour of the Rose Hall Great House is a must for visitors to Montego Bay. Your guided exploration of the former home of Jamaica’s White Witch, Annee Palmer, includes captivating and chilling stories of love, murder and mystery skillfully told by knowledgeable guides. You’re sure to feel goose bumps as these eerie tales come to life in this grand estate, where ghost sightings have been reported over the years. Tours also give historic insight into this grandest of Jamaican great houses, now beautifully restored with 18th-century decor and antiques. To conclude this fascinating adventure, you can visit the dungeon, now transformed into a tavern called Annee’s Pub. Many visitors find that the famous rum cocktail, known as “Witches Brew” helps banish the spirits of ghosts or black magic they sense still lingering in the mansion.

This eco attraction was outstanding. Not only do they introduce the Jamaican jungle plants as you trek through the awesome pathways all around the waterfalls, they guide you on a fun-filled wet adventure down the falls. Shout out to Tyhair, our tour guide who took several pictures of us with our Waterproof camera and literally CARRIED me across some areas that my artificial heel would have given me problems. Aces to this tour, a must do!

We were so pleased to have done this tour. Shana was a truly wonderful guide and told us all the gripping stories associated with Rose Hall. Possibly because we went at midday (a quiet time) we were fortunate enough to be given a private tour which made it very special. We were absolutely fascinated by the rich history, not only of Rose Hall but also of the wider area as well as the brutal slave trade, the plantations and Great Houses, and of Jamaican culture. We learnt SO much. We left with a lot to reflect on and talk about. Don't just sit on the beach, GO TO ROSE HALL!

This place is really worth its hefty entrance price when you take the tour. The guiding lady was not only full of great positive energy, she also was really musically gifted, sang the songs, brought the vibe. The grounds of this house are nicely kept and pretty. This sight represents jamaica to us.

We had a blast-10 days of fun . We loved every moment - nights and days! The cliffs are our favorite places to stay.. we spent 3 nights at Begona Cliffs $91 a night - for an Ocean front! A bit rough and noisy! Across the street was the No Limit Bar- a fantastic Teeny west end dive bar ! Then 7 dreamy nights way up at Idle Awhile Cliff ( maybe my 8th stay). We had an oceanfront Villa ….You have to be hard pressed to find a better place to unwind…. In the end it’s the setting and Jamaican people. It’s almost indescribably-ya mon -

We went to Montego Bay at the Royal Decameton resort, we were lucky. When we arrived there was a warning of a tropical storm and we could get evacuated. The day after, it rained all day but that was it! After that we had sun every day, the temperature was 27-30 degrees! The food was great! It was our second time there and we intend to go back.

We were staying in Negril and the weather at the beach was horribly windy so our family of 6 visited Blue Hole Mineral Springs. 25-30 min drive from Negril beach. Jumping into the blue hole was thrilling. The shortest jump is probably about 7-8meters so might be scary for younger children. You are allowed to climb down the ladder if you are afraid to jump from the edge. Other sides of the hole offer higher spots to jump 9-10 meters. Finally you can climb a tree and jump from a platform about 12 meters.
The pool advertised was only 1/3 filled which was very disappointing. We did not swim in it as it clearly had no filtration.
Staff there were very friendly and helpful.
We ate lunch there and it was very good. We were able to relax in some warm sunshine on lawn chairs out of the wind.

As you approach Reach falls there are a lot of local guides. We decided to use a well mannered guide called Dorian. They charge the same as the official entry fee with the proceeds going to the community. We had a wonderful hour climbing up through numerous pools and small falls with Dorian showing us exactly where to step while taking photos of us and pointing out interesting things. A great trip.
