#1 of 77 Nature & Parks in Mid Coast Maine
The sculptures, landscape design, gardens and interpretive details add so much to this delightful place, including the walks along the river and nature trails.
One of the nicest gardens I have ever been to, tons of variety, fun exhibits for kids, very walkable and an added bonus is the trail system that surrounds the park.
Cabbage Island Boothbay Harbor

Mother nature didn't cooperate with us, so we had a foggy boat ride but there's not much anyone can do about that.
Mount Battie Camden
#3 of 77 Nature & Parks in Mid Coast Maine
You can drive to the top through Camden Hills State Park or hike up a trail off Mountain Street, either way gives you wonderful views of Penobscot Bay, the town of Camden, and the beautiful offshore islands.

The park has many trails and the hikes are enjoyable for the scenery and birds and other wildlife.

It offers breathtaking views of the ocean and surrounding area, wonderful trails through the surrounding forests, and a knowledgeable staff of park rangers.
Very nice, easily accessible state park with gorgeous views of Penobscot Bay, either hike the great trails or drive the auto road, both excellent options
Reid State Park Georgetown
#8 of 77 Nature & Parks in Mid Coast Maine
As a child and young teen, I and my family would journey to Reid State Park every August to enjoy the spectacular body surfing at the two beaches on the incoming tide (plan your visit accordingly).
We visit Reid each year usually after Labor Day finds the park quiet but let's us take in the beauty of the beach area and on the other side of park the rocky rustic side, which I enjoy especially watching the wav...

We enjoyed the public park at Barrett's Cove.
Spent a day here while camping at Camden Hills State Park.
Maine State Aquarium Boothbay Harbor
#10 of 77 Nature & Parks in Mid Coast Maine
We ended up spending almost two hours at this small, highly educational aquarium and really recommend it for both children and adults who love the nature and the ocean!
