We have often commented that hiking in South Africa is a well-kept secret: SANParks, especially, seem determined to do as little as possible to publicise what are usually quite good walks.

Even by those standards, Koeberg is unbelievably difficult to find: not shown on Google maps or iPhone, their website doesn't tell you that it is on the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station site. There is a small sign for the Reserve next to a locked gate, about 5km north of where it actually is. We were lucky to have phone signal and phoned for directions. There's actually a tiny brown sign pointing to the correct road, "Koeberg" and with a hiker graphic. At the security gate, the guard toldus to turn right at the stop sign. Drove on 2km, nobody around but a guy took us back to the power station Visitors' Centre - which was straight on at the aforementioned stop sign! We thought it was the wrong place as it was only signposted as the Visitors' Centre for the power station!

The lady only recently started at the Centre and knew nothing about the walks, beyond giving us maps - and warning us to watch out for snakes! We started on the 5km walk but cut it short as the walk was largely on sand dunes and was extremely boring - we never got out of sight of the concrete nuclaer power station buildings, with a constant hum from the machinery. Apparently there are animals to be seen (zebras, small antelopes etc) but other than a bit of dung and some birds, nothing! Pretty terrible walk, I wouldn't bother.

I enjoyed a full body, 75-minute massage, and feel so much better for it. Knots in my back, hops and calves released. I’ll definitely be back.

Marelé and her team are extraordinary in every way. From the materials that they use, the designs, service, translation of one's ideas into a concept to the beautiful finished piece. Their studio is a must visit.

We purchased a voucher on Wikideals and we were to have the one hour Luxury Couples Spa Package for our Anniversary or this is what we thought. When we arrived, there was a mix up with our booking time. The receptionist was rude and made as if we had the time wrong, although I confirmed the time the day before. Eventually they found a room for my husband and me. One of the worst massages we ever experienced. We did not complete a massage consultation form. There was no background music. I do not think they were experienced. The one massage therapist was whispering to the other one what she had to do. We had to ask for the welcome drink. After 40 mins we were told that the massage was over. We had to ask about the head massage, and then realised they probably did not know how to do the head massage, my hairdresser gives a better head massage.

Tertius and his team at eyeseeAfrica arranged the most magical trip. It was a special occassion for us, and every lodge and restaurant surprised us in some way. The detailed planning, daily whatapps with map routes and most scenic route suggestions, to the thoughtful choice of lodges to fit our budget all contributed to making this trip memorable.
