What travellers are saying
- Stanley466Cape Town Central, South Africa859 contributionsVisiting once a year for the past 25 years, the evolution has been pleasing to see.
3 good restaurants, as well as a farm stall that had quality well varied items. I got some different jams with good bread, and some delicious ice-creams.
My teenage daughters enjoyed the bookstore, as well as the craft jewelery shops.
A good short or longer browse.
There's many markets in the greater area. I found this one the best.Written 5 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - fiamma11Tysons Corner, VA5 911 contributionsThis is the most beautiful beach in my memory; seeing it literally took my breath away. Beautiful white sand, crystal clear water, with magnificent views in all directions. We spotted a beautiful white horse on the beach which made it sublime. Highly recommended.Written 20 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- haroldk27Scarborough, South Africa75 contributionsThis past Sunday I had the good fortune to revisit Long Beach Kommetjie for my grandson Levi’s surfing contest. It was immediately apparent to me that over the almost fifty years that I have been visiting how picturesque it still is and how the very sensible improvements have added to its appeal and charm.
It was also very well maintained and clean and the ablutions had been significantly improved.Because of its consistent wave the various surf contests at all levels are mostly held here.To all traveller’s visiting the area I sincerely recommend a visit this gorgeous location.Written 11 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They have a good selection of different beer styles available for you to try, as well as a fully stocked bar. The tasting room is quaint with an inside and outside seating area and the staff were friendly. What I liked was the big outside lawn and tree area where the kids can run around. It is also good to note that the restaurant next door, Blue Water Café (reviewed separately), has their beers on the menu so if you taste something you really liked and want to enjoy it with a good meal you can just pop over there. We had a good experience and will definitely visit them in the future again.Written 31 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Trek4942381 contributionMy mum and I had a wonderful morning learning how to make cold pressed soap at Scented Life. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Kommetjie!Written 3 May 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Udo BDurbanville, South Africa9 contributionsThe T'Kaashuys Imhoff is something else!! The presentation was extremely well done and I have yet to go to a tasting regardless of the product which was so accurate on the pallet!! The flavors of the cheeses tasted were pure and not confusing which makes for great cheese. If you are looking for a rich flavored cheese then you need go no further than Kommetjie. The prices are not bargain basement but then again you are getting a real Cheese!!!!Written 6 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NevilleCallejaIsland of Malta, Malta117 contributionsPepe Charlot is a boutique cheesery inside the Imhoff Farm. The resident cheesemaker, Genève Braaf, is a miracle worker, who has been producing incredible cheeses for over a decade. I have only had the opportunity to taste her goats' milk cheeses (which she carefully produces using vegetarian rennet not to offend anybody's religious feelings). I have been to a few specialist cheeseries in France, but these were the best goats' milk cheeses I have ever tasted by a substantial margin. It is indeed amazing to find such skill this far out from the more renowned cheeseries in Stellenbosch. I am sure cheeseries must be in a scramble to get Ms Braaf. Pepe Charlot should thank his lucky stars to have her manning his cheesery.Written 1 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anne WGlasgow, UK48 contributionsGreat visit Sandra is very knowledgeable unfortunately could not bring some back to UK as flying with hand luggage did by a bottle of The Three Citrus Gin which was fab and I am normally not a fan of flavoured gins. We did manage to finish it before we left 🇿🇦.Written 28 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
